And you're still not seeing where the government is involved. Awesome.

I pointed out that the gov't is not shown to be involved in the OP. The fact that I am involved in building fiber optic systems in rural areas is not relevant, per se. Since there is no one claiming that anyone will get them for free. The gov't provides money for large infrastructure construction all the time. In this case the stimulus is doing what it should.

Because you get a paycheck from tax dollars it's OK for government to fund internet systems for private companies?

Is that why I said it was doing it was supposed to do? No.

First of all, running fiber optic systems into rural areas is bringing much better utility services to these areas. The use is cheaper and the maintenance is roughly the same. The construction is the major expense.

Also, a significant portion of the workers are locals. Not only are they making a good living, they are learning a marketable skill which will serve them well as a career. So the tax dollars have extended the reach of, and access to, utilities, while providing income and training for workers in an area with high unemployment and low wages.

I disagreed with the entire premise of the stimulus. But since it is happening, I will say that this part of it was done right.

Reading really isn't your strong suit, is it?

I defy you to show me where I said anything about my wages, let alone that they are low. Stop trolling.
.
Can you read at all? What part of the following sentence is unclear? "So the tax dollars have extended the reach of, and access to, utilities, while providing income and training for workers in an area with high unemployment and low wages."

Zuckerberg unveils plan for free Net access for all

http://www.11alive.com/news/article/303475/40/Zuckerberg-unveils-plan-for-free-Net-access-for-all

From the link:
"SAN FRANCISCO - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg late Tuesday announced on his Facebook profile page the formation of a partnership with Samsung Electronics, Nokia, Qualcomm and others to make Internet access available to everyone on Earth.

The group - Internet.org - intends to make the Internet an option for the 5 billion people who don't have it. Only about one-third of the world's population - 2.7 billion - has Internet access.

"Everything Facebook has done has been about giving all people around the world the power to connect," Zuckerberg said in a post on his timeline. "There are huge barriers in developing countries to connecting and joining the knowledge economy. Internet.org brings together a global partnership that will work to overcome these challenges, including making internet access available to those who cannot currently afford it."

The founding members of Internet.org - which also includes Ericsson, MediaTek and Opera -- will develop joint projects, share knowledge, and mobilize industry and governments to bring the world online, according to Zuckerberg."

It looks like his plan involves mostly private companies. Since he is talking about global work, there will be gov't involved, since they own the systems in many countries.

I don't see where he suggested it is a "right". In fact, what the article said is: "The group - Internet.org - intends to make the Internet an option for the 5 billion people who don't have it."

Yep, this area typically has high unemployment (+/- 11%) and low wages (median household income around $25k). I am not from here. But the workers who are from here are earning better money and learning a valuable skill. I'd guess 25% to 30% of the workers here are new to this industry.

So you aren't benefited at all?

So you aren't benefited at all?

No where in my posts did I claim I have not benefitted. I have simply stated that the stimulus did what it was supposed to do. Fiber optic systems cannot be built without bringing in expertise.

But then, I am reasonably certain your career benefitted from tax dollars as well.
