Inequality In U.S. Is Scarily High, Rising (INFOGRAPHIC)

By the way, check out this map of states with no minimum wage laws or minimum wages lower than the federal minimum wage:

I was curious about that as well. My guess would be they had a state minimum wage that at one time was higher, but hasn't been updated???

I am sure DH has the answer and will teach us both something. I don't know if you've noticed, but he doesn't post anything without knowing what he is talking about. Have you ever thought of following him around much as you do now, but instead of heckling him, observe and learn? I feel it would greatly improve your posting style!

How can a state have a minimum wage that is lower than the federal minimum wage?

They're basically old state rate that they haven't updated. The federal rate supersedes the state rate except where the state rate is higher than the federal.

Edit: The point is that unless forced to do so by the federal government, it is highly unlikely that these states will enact minimum wage laws that provide sufficient income for low skill workers to avoid poverty and the attendant horribles.

Bloated yes, obese no. Stop acting moronic, it doesn't suit you well.

No, you most certainly can become obese. When the body gets too few calories, it goes into starvation mode and turns the food into fat rather than energy. The body then looks for fuel to burn and it tends to deteriorate muscle mass. While you are not going to go from 100 pounds to 300 pounds, you are still going to see an increase in fat and decrease in muscle. The mistake you are making (which is common) is thinking obese means large. It does not. It refers to the amount of body fat in a person as a percentage of their total weight. You can be skinny and obese.

Side bar: we have the saying 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day'... when we go to sleep, the body goes into starvation mode. If we do not eat in the morning, it stays there. Prolonging the effects of the above. That is why we should target eating within 30-60 minutes of getting up. It 'wakes up' the metabolism.

You are basing that off of nothing. The charts you displayed don't seem to account for cost of living differences in the states. Those states with higher costs of living should increase beyond the federal level whereas states in the lower cost of living areas should not.

You also ignore the fact that the bulk of minimum wage earners are not the primary bread winners. In fact half are high school and college kids.

Are there really only those two options in your sesame street world, boris?

And you never did tell me where you planned to move to in order to pull off your big secession plan....

well...as I said... if your world really appears to you all that black and white..... maybe you should secede... but then, where would you do that from?

Yeah....fucking go already....I'll tell you what....you and all your followers? We'll give you.....St. Thomas.....should be plenty of space.

That is how the world is run. Not some "nuanced" crap or anything like that. You either are or are not. And Liberals are the enemy of America.

you still haven't said where you'll secede from when those pesky negroes, mexicans and orientals start takin' over 'Merica.

Nope, We'll send all you Liberal retards to Cuba. You would fit in nicely there, Marxist.

Well...I'm certainly no Marxist....but hey...everyone to the left of you seems to carry that moniker(of course)....in that case.....I'm be willing to bet both my nuts that I am WAY more accurate than you are.

Income inequality could sink our country... I don't know what to do about it, but it threatens our democracy.

In other forums I heard that we can never maximize our national standards higher than our imports. He was a pretty smart dude.

He stated that if we can't hire below 18 years old, then other Countries can't either. All rules in America apply to imports.

This would actually make our standards lower which the Right Capitalist/Corporatocracy would like. But it would also show other Countries that we are a "STANDARD" and we don't accept products that cost lives. The way America USE to be before Bush. #1.

If we can't do it here, we shouldn't import it.
