Indiana Jones and the Lackluster Box Office

Lurch is at least claiming to be trying to become a better human.

Is there any hope of you measuring up?
He's young. You and I are about the same age so I'm coasting like you...except I haven't greased the tracks with copious amounts of alcohol so my slide is slower.

I was never a huge Harrison Ford Fan, and I'm not really sure why. Because in all of his blockbuster hit movies, he always seemed to bring the movies around and make them pretty good memorable movies actually. My favorite Harrison Ford Movie was Blade Runner, but his first couple of Indiana Jones movies were pretty entertaining Adventure movies, and hey, his first couple of Star Wars roles were pretty good as well. SO maybe I liked him, after all, but just took a while to adjust to his unique dry personality. Harrison has always been allowed to just play or be himself in all of his roles. So that's a pretty good thing- if you can get it. Not many Hollywood stars get that kind of a break!

And after all, he is the 7th most successful Hollywood man in the history of movie making.

So yes, I would like to see him in his new movie. I have to admire him, and all of the recent actors and actresses that are still going after 80!

I'll just wait to stream it though, as soon as it becomes available for pay per view!

Maybe folks just don't want to see a geriatric Indiana.

I used to love Tuesday Weld when I was a boy, but Ms. Weld is three years older than I.
I don't look exactly the same as I did in 1962,
so perhaps I wouldn't recognize Tuesday.

Her younger cousin used to be Governor of Massachusetts, by the way.

Sez Tiny Dick without an original thought in his little head.

Why do you insist on stealing memes from others instead of making your own? Too stupid? Too much alcohol when you were younger? Never had it in the first place?

To you? A drunken lout who beats up women to get his rocks off? A guy who drinks to the point of passing out and then posts conspiracy bullshit at 3 in the morning? ROTFLMFAO!!!

You are quite the guy dude.

A shining example of what our youth should strive for.

We also haven't noticed you canoodling with some old Internet whore, referring to your wife as "THE SLUT," and staying up all night posting bizarro, nonsensical craziness. Yet. :rofl2:

Exactly! Why would anyone have a problem except for a racist fuckwit?

It's a business decision. The racist fuckwits can make their own movies. I suggest remaking "Mandingo"...with a white guy...and black actors as the slavers.
A sure winner!!!

I might actually go see that one. lol

What about the gorgeous Zoe Saldana as Laura Croft? That would explode quite a few racist heads, you think?

Only a sub moronic chimp would think that such a casting decision could ever be even close to acceptable or that not accepting it = racism.

You woke nitwits act like you've had the words "racist" and "racism" burned into your brains with a red hot cattle branding iron.

I really doubt that a single casting director gives a fuck about what you think is acceptable.

No, he's just not afraid to leave his house like you are. He doesn't have to worry about the neighbors calling the cops on him when he steps outside, either. lol

Yeah but I always bring my gun to the theater in case the guy doesn’t completely fill my popcorn. ;). Buckle up!!!

The sad part about that statement is that as of two days ago it would be completely legal for me to do so in Florida.

It's legal in Texas.

Went to see the movie this afternoon. If you are a fan of the first movie, you will love this one. Harrison Ford slipped seamlessly into the 'Indy' persona, and there was not one moment during the film where you thought 'man he is just too old to do this'. The original film was intended to be an homage to the old serials, and that storytelling form comes through in this one in a way that Crystal Skull never came close to. Lots of cliffhangers, lots of action, and the payoff scene is pure fun. (No spoilers from this kid). Karen Allen.... well, she looked old. So did Antonio Banderas, but it was nice to see a cameo from John Rhys-Davis, and it was nice to see some Easter eggs from the other films.

Side note, we went to a 3:00 show and the theater was packed. The parking lot was as well, it looked just like a weekend crowd, so I suspect this will do just fine over the four day weekend. Not going to win any Oscars, but it was exactly what it should be; a wonderful summer popcorn movie. Thumbs up from me.

Final final note: The first 20 minutes of this film take place in the same timeframe as the original, so obviously, Harrison needed to look 25 years younger. The CGI was seamless; not sure how they are doing this, but it looked like they plucked 1990s Harrison Ford to shoot those scenes. Really great stuff.
