Indiana Girl's National Anthem Rendition Stirs Flap

I think the Klan members here are into deflecting. I've see nothing that makes this not traditional only a slight variation. Marvin gay did a rythm and blues version and sounded awesome though that same group of klansman would call it garbage.

There is zero doubt in my mind where this girl white any exception would have been taken.

That is such bullshit. To say it is simply because of her race is ridiculous. Good Luck is correct. Yes, the people who complained were most likely white. Yes, the girl is black. The fact that you focus purely on the RACE of the people involved shows how fucking closed minded you are. There are indeed people who want everyone to sing the anthem the same way every time. To suggest that they complained JUST because she is black shows your own racist tendencies.

Also... what Good Luck stated was not in any way racist. If anything it was the complete opposite. He was telling you to quit focusing so hard on skin pigmentation and to quit trying to blame everything that occurs between different races on race itself. I've never seen anyone critisize an anthem besides rosane's. A klansman lite like SF not getting it doesn't shock me at all. You guy's stick together.

Side note moron.... the performance winter posted.... was at her home gym, not the one in question. It could easily be the version she sang after they asked her to make it more traditional. You don't know and neither do I.... so if you want to discuss it, try posting the ACTUAL performance in question.

There is a massive difference in the two positions toppy. If you had said 'racism MIGHT be behind this'..... I would have agreed with you. It is certainly a possibility.

But your original position was that it was DEFINITELY racism and that there could be no other reason for someone to complain.

3) It is not odd that people call you out for an over used race card given that you used the race card in this situation despite not having ANY EVIDENCE to suggest it was due to racism.

Exactly. I liked it and thought she did a good job. It seems the crowd did too. If I can listen to some Irish guy sing "God Bless America" at baseball games I can definitely listen to this little girl's rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

the youtube of her singing the national anthem is NOT the one that people complained about.

It could be one that she sang AFTER they asked her to sing it in a more traditional manner. OR it could be one that she sang prior to the one in question. But it is not the one in question as she is clearly singing at her home town.
