I'm starting to change my mind on Trump!

If Trump gets that far with this, Obama doesn't have a chance.

That's a fairly delusional thing to say - but unsurprising, given some of your past pronouncements.

Trump would get obliterated in a general election. It wouldn't even be close....

Yeah, you would think that.. You would also think, any GOP candidate who mentioned the birth certificate would immediately kill any chances they had too. Any candidate who is talking about going to the middle east and taking their oil, would be castigated and marginalized as a nut... but it seems like, the more outrageous Trump talks, the more his poll numbers rise. Perhaps the "novelty" wears off, and his support begins to erode? That may very well happen, I haven't said or predicted it wouldn't.... BUT... IF he wins the nomination, there is something to this... he has broken down the barriers and changed the game as we know it. If that is the case, Obama is in serious trouble, because he has no idea how to play Trump's game.

You can think whatever... 8 weeks ago, if you had told me Donald Trump would be leading the polls for the GOP nomination, I would have thought you were crazy.... If you told me he would get there by raising the issue of the BC, threatening to take the Arab's oil, and get tough with China... I would have thought you needed to be institutionalized. Yet, that is where we are! If I were you liberals, I would be wishing and hoping for something to derail the Trump train before it picks up steam, because this spells trouble.

Preserved for all time in the annals of stupid, self-contradictory statements:

I don't know, but I was probably right.

Look, he hasn't won the nomination, he hasn't even announced he is running, no on has really... so it's way too early to tell... we don't even know if Trump's amazing poll numbers would translate to actual votes or not... that remains to be seen. A lot of people can be pissed off enough right now to SAY they would vote for Trump, but when they are in that booth and ready to pull the lever, will they actually do so? This is just something we don't know yet, and can't really predict. But like I said... IF (note the word) Trump should win the GOP nomination, it means the unconventional has become conventional, and it means this election will not fit the mold of tradition. Party politics go out the window, and all bets are off as to who will win the presidency. Obama can win a campaign against a traditional candidate, he knows what to do, what to say, what tricks to pull out of the hat... it's his game to lose. With Trump, he would face something unlike any politician in modern times has had to face, and I don't think he can beat Trump, if the snowball has taken him to the nomination. If Trump gets that far with this, Obama doesn't have a chance.

I don't want caricatures like Trump or Sarah Barracuda because I believe in a strong 2-party system - not because I'm afraid of them, as you generally insinuate. Both would basically represent a "gimme" for Obama, and wouldn't either put pressure on him or force him to reconsider some positions. They'd be a cakewalk.

Now, if I were you & your party, I would concentrate on making this a tough election for Obama, and picking a candidate who a) isn't delusional, b) is intelligent and c) who can actually present a challenge. If you pick Trump, I'll enjoy the entertainment value, but mourn somewhat for another election - like '96 or '04 - where the opposition party basically punted...

Haahaaa... oh, that's a good one Onzies! Tie Trump up on the kooky vine with Sara Palin! Nice move! It won't work though. Trump is not Palin, and you'll get back what you dish out in spades, ask Rosie O'Donnell. Trump speaks his mind and gets away with it, other Republicans can't do that. Imagine what the left would have said if Sara Palin had articulated she thought we should go kick ass and take their oil? OMG... she wouldn't have had to resign as governor of Alaska, they would have lynched her! You don't hear any of the Republicans taking a tough position on China, because they all have some staffer's bug in their ear, saying... don't mention China, we have several congressmen working on a trade deal, and we can't mess that up for them... Nope, Trump doesn't have a bug in his ear, he can say whatever he damn well pleases, and the GOP can kiss his ass. The rest of them have to tow the party line, and their opponents exploit the hell out of that. It won't work on a Trump... you're not dealing with a politician. He doesn't have a voting record he has to run from, he isn't beholden to any special interests.. there is nothing for you to exploit there. All you can do, really, is throw out personal insults... he's a joke... he's a clown... he has bad hair... he went bankrupt... you can't be serious? That's ALL you have against Trump, and I think.... IF he wins the nomination, he will have overcome that particular obstacle and proven that the people don't care about those things, they aren't an issue. Obama will be in serious political trouble, if we get to that point. That's all I am saying, I don't know that we get to that point, maybe Trump implodes and never recovers, it happened to Ross Perot, a lot of things can happen between now and time to nominate a candidate to run against Obama. Should Trump survive the primaries and win the nomination, I don't think Obama can beat him. In fact, I think Trump can do things to Obama that no other candidate on the right would DARE to, and he wouldn't hesitate. You are still trying to analyze this in 'traditional' mode, and I agree, in normal political parlance, you wouldn't give Trump a chance against the seasoned veteran campaigner, Obama... but Trump is anything BUT traditional, and if he won the GOP nomination, the entire campaign would be unconventional.

It's like.... If the World Champion Green Bay Packers showed up to defend their title in next year's Super Bowl, to find their opponent is the NY Yankees, and we're playing baseball in the Super Bowl this year...... all bets are off! The Packers might be the best team in football, but it doesn't matter if they aren't playing football, does it?

Trump doesn't get away w/ it, though. Have you been paying attention this past week?

The guy has foot in the mouth disease. Forget about it; you're new to Trump, and don't realize. When the lights start to get turned up real bright, we'll get some real gems out of him. He'll be in constant damage-control mode...

What I see happening is, Trump continues to gain in the polls, and is currently the only GOP potential who polls better than Obama in a head-to-head. Like I said.... any other candidate out there, could never get away with what Trump has said... or will undoubtedly say, when he runs. Yet, here we have Trump saying this stuff, and he just keeps getting more and more popular with the people.... it's unconventional.... it's off the chain... it breaks all the rules... and it's working for Trump. I think we're seeing something that just defies our standard thinking when it comes to politics, and if he can transform that into a nomination, you guys better look out.

LOL

who is surprised dixie supports trump now?

I mean... WHO THE FUCK IS SURPRISED?

lets just turn our entire electoral process into american idol. Lets get 2 former reality tv contestants as possible front runners for the highest office in the land.

Oncelar, you are wrong on one thing - there are SO many dumb people in america. You are wrong if you think either couldn't get elected.

Mccain only lost to obama by a 3 pt swing. Think about that. In an election about change and a new direction, the hip cool candidate only beat the out of touch dinosaur with PALIN AS VP by a 3point swing.

We are a nation of proles. Do NOT underestimate the proles. Do not estimate the number of retards like dixie, with their gunracks and confederate flags on the back of their pickups. Do not forget that there are legions of americans that want a dumb president, because americans are dumb, and don't like being reminded about how proleish they are by having an elite, intelligent, articulate president. We want someone that squints their eyes and thinks over the tough questions like evolution and sunrises.

What I most fear with Trump is having the same thing happen as happened in Colorado. He doesn't get the nod, the GOP selects a weak candidate, Trump jumps to run as an "Independent" and hands the election to Obama by splitting the vote.

First of all, you need to work on your reading comprehension skills if you think you read where Dixie said he supports Trump. I don't believe I have made such a statement, and at this point in time, I am still undecided on who I will support. I am merely having a conversation with a pinhead, about Trump as a candidate. Let me repeat myself a second time here, I have not stated I support Donald Trump for president. Studies show people have to read something three times, before it actually sinks in, what has been articulated.... so for a third time, I have never stated that I support Donald Trump for president.

Now.... Unless you are profoundly retarded, perhaps you comprehended me?

Aww how cute... Trump is a Big Fat Dummy! Is that it? LOL ...that's good, retard!

You know.... the way things are going, by time to vote, people might just be saying.... We're heading to hell in a buggy, may as well have Trump driving it... at least the trip won't be boring! I personally know a LOT of people who are just fed up with politics in general, left AND right, and might be inclined to vote for Trump just to inject some outside blood and shake things up.

Look... I know, pinheads are all on their little blogs trying to figure out how they can still justify supporting Obama after all that has gone down, and the idea of Trump running is somewhat of a topic of humor amongst yourselves... and that's fine, I understand you have to have levity. But the reality of a populist candidate who has money and name recognition, and the ability to command an audience, and leadership experience, and business experience... who isn't tied to party politics... who can't be bought off by special interests... My goodness... something like this could go viral! Yes.... If I were a pinhead, I think I would definitely be downplaying Trump, throwing every mean thing I could say at Trump, and doing my best to dissuade righties from supporting Trump!

This is the side of Dixie I'd like to see more often.

Yes, we should invade the terrorist nations and take their goddamn oil. America is one nation UNDER GOD, not one nation UNDER ALLAH, and GOD GIVES US the right to the oil, not to some SAND NIGGERS. They should do nothing but be our slaves, pulling our oil out of the ground until they die of heat exhaustion and we make their children replace them until they're worked to death as well. Maybe we day we can see the death of this TOWELHEAD TERRORIST RELIGION once all of the A-RABS are JUSTLY DEAD.

I'd also like to present you with another proposal of mine, oh wise dixie. We should take our military, and invade some defenseless NIGGER nation in Africa, and just take all of their people back as slaves and sell them to reduce the deficit. Brilliant, eh? I thought you'd think so. A world without toilheads and niggers, oh jesus christ, lord and savior, I must be dreaming.

First of all, you need to work on your reading comprehension skills blah blah blah deny deny deny

lol dixie, your op is one step away from liking his blue jeans. You are basically slobbering all over him. Of course you support him.

How is Trump suddenly a populist? He recently spoke about how embarassing it was that the White House used a tent for larger entertainment gatherings, and wants to build the most magnificent ballroom the world has ever seen in its place...

This Trump thing shows that the republican party should change its moto to "we are the suckers born every minute".

Trump is playing these people big time.

The Trumpster is just a kid from Queens that made it.

Are you referring to the recent gubernatorial election? Didn't the Dem get over 50% of the vote? It seems to me that the Dem would have won anyway...
