The joke about Chelsea Clinton that should have sunk John McCain
McCain’s 1998 joke about Clinton packed in several layers of misogyny and was dubbed ‘too vile to repeat’
Ed Pilkington

It goes to show how times have changed, even in almost a quarter of a century.

Cross the pond and that is exactly what happened to John McCain at a fundraising dinner in Arizona a decade ago. “Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly?” he told a handful of big Republican funders. “Because Janet Reno is her father.”

The remark packed into its 15 words several layers of misogyny. It disparaged the looks of Chelsea, then 18 and barely out of high school; it portrayed Reno as a man at a time when she was serving as the first female US attorney general; and it implied that Hillary Clinton was engaged in a lesbian affair while the Monica Lewinsky scandal was blazing. Not bad going, Senator McCain.

Hey thanks for your confessions of being PETTY, a Conspiracy Theorist, and a lifelong Clinton hater!...

Your choice to believe Hillary has a halo and wings, but that fact remains she's a liar, her husband is both a liar and a rapist and both of them are corrupt up to their eyeballs. There's a reason many top Democratic Party leaders were happy when they were gone.

Dude

It’s was an unspoken pact that both parties would ignore side action

I’m glad this pact is dead...
Clinton perjured himself in a lawsuit which is a lot more serious than an adulterous blowjob. Both Clintons threw Paula Jones and the other women who complained about Slick Willy's sexual predation, including rape, under the bus. It was then that I lost all respect for NOW. They sacrificed women for political capital as a FOB, Friend of Bill.

weapons got to Syria without Bengazi.. KSA sent weapons along with CIA to bases in Jordan
I suspect you are correct about using the annex as well for Libyan wepaons but Rand Paul tried to find out and hit the classified wall

Exactly. The tragedy of Benghazi belonged in Obama's lap but the Republicans decided to use it as a stick to be Hillary.

I’m old enough to remember…

It’s a small sign of progress, but I’m old enough to remember that it was a huge culture war scandal for Hillary Clinton to use her maiden name in a hyphenated way. If you are old enough you may remember that she went by Hillary Rodham-Clinton Back in 1992. The conservative right through such an uproar that she gave up her maiden name. That’s when the hate for her started.

She was the first first lady to be a lawyer and to have worked outside the home In any job other than what was considered a traditional woman’s job like teaching or librarian.

We have made a lot of progress, nobody complained about KBJ using her maiden name, or being a mother who worked outside the home. Like I said liberalism always wins in the long run.

In truth, I worked with a guy who had Rush Limburger on his radio every day and they were pounding Hillary endlessly. I had no idea what. But they were right. She was going into politics and service. They identified her and started targeting her when Bill was running and non-stop for the next 8 years. They created incredible hatred for a highly qualified, intelligent and honest woman making her an object of crazed and illogical hatred.

What?

Her cookies won the contest
The point being is that it was a bullshit accusation, mostly in reflection of the past 30 years.

People Freaked Out Over This Comment Hillary Clinton Made in 1992

August 19, 2016
by ELEANOR SHEEHAN

Let's travel back to 1992 when Hillary Clinton came under fire for a comment about baking cookies, of all things. Here's what went down. In the Democratic primary, Bill Clinton was running against California politician Jerry Brown. During a debate, Brown accused Bill of "funneling money to his wife's law firm." That put Hillary's job as a lawyer in the spotlight. Going against the norms of a politician's wife, Hillary had a prominent career in law and continued it after her husband entered public life.

When Hillary was asked about Brown's comment, she responded: "I suppose I could have stayed home, baked cookies, and had teas." The remark outraged many voters, who perceived it as a knock against stay-at-home wives and moms. Not surprisingly, the full quote was not reported. After mentioning cookies, Hillary went on to say, "The work that I have done as a professional, a public advocate, has been aimed . . . to assure that women can make the choices whether it's full-time career, full-time motherhood, or some combination." Despite her efforts for accepting all women, the damage was done.

With time, Hillary's 1992 comment became an example of feminism. Instead of giving up her career for her husband to proverbially bake cookies, she decided to pursue a profession she started before her husband took office. Her dedication to her own work has led her to become the first woman to win a presidential nomination in the United States. And just this month, Bill was even asked to share his chocolate chip cookie recipe with the magazine Family Circle.

I like chocolate chip cookies! Hillary's recipe: https://clintonwhitehouse3.archives.gov/WH/EOP/First_Lady/html/cookies.html

FWIW, I like straight cookies; no nuts, raisins or anything but chocolate chips....and I like to use the ready-made mix. :)

The Republicans who did 'exactly what Hillary did'
Hypocrisy matters.

Agreed, hypocrisy matters. That's why I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils.

In my time, I've voted in 12 Presidential elections. IMHO, voting for a lying sexual predator or other scumbag simply because HE's carrying the correct political party card is BULLSHIT.

Everyone should vote their conscience. If your conscience isn't on the ballot, vote Third Party or write yourself in. If you're worried the Third Party might win and you don't like that candidate either? Vote the most likely to lose. The IMPORTANT thing is to VOTE because it gives a true picture of the conscience of the population.

Democracy matters. Voting numbers matter. Democracy doesn't mean shit if people don't vote or vote for lying scumbags.

I don't believe in angels so NO! And no one here can prove that Hillary lied about anything. Nor do I believe that a single lie should damn a person to hell- especially if that lie was about committing adultery and a man wanted to save his marriage- so he denied it. And I also do not believe that Bill Clinton ever raped anyone. And there has been "0" evidence of the Clintons being corrupt in any way. And I know of no Democrat that believes that Hillary should be demonized as you are doing here today, and all of the ones I know voted for her!

I just believe what John Lennon said- "Women are the Nigger of the world"!

And I believe that Hillary is the best example of that I can even think of.

But you just go on hating the Clintons for whatever reason you want. Hater's are gonna' hate!

Next hater please!

Comey did in his testimony. Hillary was given a hall pass by the Obama administration because she literally owned the DNC. Have you ever read Sun Tzu's "The Art of War"?

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41850797
the Democratic National Committee (DNC) signed a deal with Clinton's team to keep the party financially afloat.

In exchange, the Clinton campaign would control the DNC's "finances, strategy and all the money raised", she said.

She claimed the deal showed favouritism toward Mrs Clinton over Bernie Sanders.

The DNC was meant to be neutral in the contest between Mrs Clinton and her Democratic primary season challenger, Mr Sanders.

Supporters of Mr Sanders have long insisted that the DNC was biased against him.

Comey?- You mean one of the Special Prosecutors in the Whitewater hearings?

The same guy that after the Whitewater Hearings cleared the Clintons, he was still out there on the News stations saying that Clintons were still guilty- UNTIL KENNETH STAR told him to STFU because the Hearing was over and the Clinton's were cleared of any wrongdoing by the investigative committee?

The same REPUBLICAN guy that obviously carried a political grudge and a bone to pick and came out on the day before Hillary's election day and announced Hillary was under Federal Investigation for Felonies?

And then after the election, held another press conference to say- "Well, Hillary is innocent of all charges"- so naturally she wasn't charged?

Comey's ass! Just another Clinton and Hillary hater disgruntled because he could never prove any of the accusations he tried to prove were true but failed!

That embarrassed failure Comey? That guy?

GIVE US A FUCKING BREAK DUDE!

You mean that guy?

Bernie Sanders is a progressive Democratic Socialist by his own definition! All's well except that is not the thrust of the Democratic party overall.

It was not so much the DNC that didn't want Bernie Sanders to be the president- it was the Vocal and Voting majority of the party.

It was also the Democrat Super Delegates that said, before the primaries, that they would not support Bernie Sanders PERIOD as a candidate for the president.

There is no way any Democrat will ever win any presidential race- if they do not have the full support of the Super Delegates.

So the DNC is a moot point!

So working for the children is the same as Hitler and his dogs? Did you think that out? She is not exterminating jews and starting wars. She was working for universal healthcare. That was a shitty post.

Yes. As head of the FBI working for Loretta and Obama....who worked for the DNC. LOL

Are you denying Hillary had control of the DNC?

Is that what you got out of that? Interesting. No, it's not. Perhaps if I'd bolded and enlarged your statement my response would have been clearer....but I really did enjoy the rant. LOL

Like Trump, Hillary mainly cared about Hillary. It's why she was so quick to shit on anyone who got in her way.

Do you know the #1 reason why I believe Obama was a legitimate American citizen? Because if he wasn't, Hillary would have burned him to the ground.
Hillary was an advocate for children and concentrated on legal rights for kids. She actually cares about something unlike rightys.https://www.edweek.org/policy-polit...ocacy-work-takes-convention-spotlight/2016/07

No, she was a Republican during college.https://www.chicagomag.com/chicago-...hen-hillary-clinton-was-a-teenage-republican/ Try again. That was a terrible fail.

From your linked article:

when Hillary Rodham was growing up in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, she and her friend Ernest “Rick” Ricketts used to sit together on the wooden fence outside her family’s stately brick house, on the corner of Wisner Avenue and Elm Street. They’d perch there for hours, talking about cars, the Cubs, the Civil War, and, their favorite topic, politics. Two years ago, on a campaign stop in Chicago, Hillary saw Ricketts and asked if he remembered those marathon sessions from their grade school days when, as she put it, they would “solve all the world's problems.”

“That memory came flooding back to me,” Ricketts recalls. ”That’s exactly what we’d do. We’d say, ‘This is what the government should do’ or ‘No, this is what it should do.’ ”

As I said, a born activist. She learned the Republican Party was not the vehicle for it she had hoped although in those days there were, in fact, activists for progress in the GOP.
