I’m old enough to remember…

It’s a small sign of progress, but I’m old enough to remember that it was a huge culture war scandal for Hillary Clinton to use her maiden name in a hyphenated way. If you are old enough you may remember that she went by Hillary Rodham-Clinton Back in 1992. The conservative right through such an uproar that she gave up her maiden name. That’s when the hate for her started.

She was the first first lady to be a lawyer and to have worked outside the home In any job other than what was considered a traditional woman’s job like teaching or librarian.

We have made a lot of progress, nobody complained about KBJ using her maiden name, or being a mother who worked outside the home. Like I said liberalism always wins in the long run.

What really hacked off the right about Hillary happened long ago. She began as a Republican and it didn't take her long to size them up and realize that, as a woman, she was limited by the chauvinist Republican glass ceiling; and promptly switched to the Democratic Party.

Good points. Just as #TRE45ON realized that as the (D) he used to be, he was totally unelectable by actual Democrats, so he switched to the QOP where he was welcomed with open arms. We have a much bigger tent than do the (R)s, but we still don't have room for bigots, racists, misogynists.

While I have no doubt the Evangelistas hated Hillary for being a "modern woman", remember the cookie fiasco?, it's her lies and corruption that cause me to vote against her and Bill.

I like the sentiment. The fate of The Weimar Republic is a reminder of the failures along the road, as was the election of Trump and the Trumpism that lives on.

I remember the righwing was apoplectic that Bill Clinton openly was planning on his wife being an advisor when they felt a first lady should be baking cookies

I was on her side re the cookies, I thought the outrage was sexist.

i remember being dumb enough to support her in 08.
Considering just how nasty and TDS she got afterwards -at least by 2012 after Libya and the Russian hoax in 2016 I was soo glad she never got the brass ring

Agreed she took unfair hits but that doesn't absolve her of the Clinton lies and corruption. Travelgate, Lincoln bedroom, Whitewater and the multiple pardons by Bill of his friends.

Society learning from it's mistakes is a good thing to see in the big picture. Living through it is a chore.

Hillary was an advocate for children and concentrated on legal rights for kids. She actually cares about something unlike rightys.https://www.edweek.org/policy-polit...ocacy-work-takes-convention-spotlight/2016/07

Hitler loved his dog Blondi under he killed her to test the poison before giving some to Eva.

She's a born activist for liberal causes. It's why she hitched herself to a guy she read as having a political future in the causes she admired.

Those three are legitimate concerns. There were thousands of unfair attacks that make those three fade. Carter, Obama And so far Biden, have very few true scandals.

remember the cookie fiasco?,
Not really a fiasco. Just an insult to Tammy Wynnette. Another one of her so called "mispokes", like saying half the country was a basket full of deplorables, like telling West Virginians she'd eliminate the coal industry, referring to young black males as super predators that need to be brought to heel.

Sorry, dude, but disagreed. First, not "thousands" as in different, just thousands of the same attacks. The Clintons were well known for lying so any lies "Sniper Fire" Clinton told came back to haunt her just like they did with "I never had sexual relations with that woman" Clinton had.

Benghazi was purely political to attack the presumptive next-Democrat nominee for President instead of going after the Lame Duck President for his black weapons op smuggling arms from Libya to Syria when the Republican Congress prevented all other means of arming the rebels. The Republicans on the Intel and Military committee knew what happened but it was classified so they couldn't say. Meanwhile, Ms. "I only use a private server" Clinton, was out of the loop as Sec of State. I think that's what she was being attacked over even though it was never stated that way because of the circumstances.**

As for scandals, how many justified scandals do you count for the Clintons? Twice as many or three times as many as the others? LOL

**BTW, anyone who thinks the Russians only hacked the Democrats is a fucking moron.
