If masks and other government policies work, how do you explain this?

Masks don't even matter. I run the numbers everyday. We have COVID weighing in with a massive 0.018% mortality rate...and that's based on the tests actually done, the real rate is lower than that. We're locking states down and killing livelihoods for 18 out of 1000 people.

But I would say the insanity aimed at Trump is - as Trump might say - Reagan+++.

I'd gauge it at 3-4 times worse, and Reagan made liberal heads explode.

Every store here I walk into has a sign about wearing a mask but when I walk in no one is wearing one. We're over it here in Michigan.

Here in Louisiana it's much the same but it does depend on the chain the local supermarket chain is pretty adamant about wearing them as is Costco

if you are so mentally challenged you do not believe masks worn by people in public greatly reduces the spread of this infection, then you are too stupid to argue with. even with a mask mandate, people can make dumb decisions that infect others. they can have private parties and gatherings. like i said, all those numbers prove is that even with a mask mandate, a certain percentage of dumbass clowns will still gather together with strangers and acquaintances without masks and keep the infection going.

Good for Michigan.

Here in WV we have high mask compliance with some exceptions. Can’t get into any chain store without one because they’ll stop you at the door but I know of at least one watering hole that’s a ‘speak easy’ lol, and my gym is essentially mask free in spite of the mandate.

We sign a sheet when entering so if there is a break out they can contact trace but so far so good. I simply won’t wear a mask on the Stair Master or whatever. It’s where I draw the line and apparently a lot of other people are the same way.

But, we clean *meticulously*. When I say we I mean everybody. Get done with a piece of equipment it gets wiped down. On top of that they keep a ‘wiper’ there during busy hours. They do nothing but clean the whole time they are there.

One of the reasons I’m a mask skeptic is because I’m far from convinced the studies that support mask use are able to control the confounding variables. Cleaning and hand washing is one of them. For example, if my gym had 100% mask compliance and not a single COVID case was traced back to it during all the months it’s been open it would be [too] easy to conclude that masks were the difference when it’s quite possible it was the cleaning.
