If Convicted, should Trump pardon Manafort?

i say yes, because I think people that hide money from the government are heros. I love people that get away with hiding taxes.

plus, it will trigger the left and I hate liberals.

however I wont say he deserves it. but it would be cool if he got one.

I assume you dont use anything paid for by tax dollars?

Absolutely yes. The whole "investigation" is unlawful and illegitimate, therefore all indictments and convictions are unlawful and illegitimate. Manafort will own Muller in a couple years

What is unlawful about it? What is illegitimate about it?

I am interested in your opinions before Trump does it, because I know once he has done it, certain posters will defend it to their death.

Does Manafort deserve a pardon and if so why?

Well look, it's rather like this. We don't charge or hold accountable our war criminals but rather recycle them as pundits and appointed officials to push more war which our economic system runs upon, we continue to subsidize the aristocracy while 1 in 5 kids lives in poverty in our exceptional great again nation, we allow the power of the state to murder unarmed citizens, children in the streets with impunity.

How would Don's pardoning of another lawless corrupt entitled twat be a step further down the road than we've already gone?

Trump already tried to interfere in the trial and even claimed a guy charged with 18 counts is a good guy. Presidents do not comment on trials. The power of the president can create mistrials. Nixon was creamed for calling Charlie Manson guilty. It is not done...until now. Trump recognizes no precedences and respects no norms. Trump is shameful again.

the only question is when would he pardon him, and the answer is probably soon.

Trump sent a dog whistle signal to Manafort, "he's a GOOD man" I believe was the quote to the media.

since against all of his constitutional rights Manafort is being held in isolation, I think his lawyer will relay the message

I have no doubt that The Orange Gasbag will pardon Manafort.

The issue is what happens then?

Manafort would then be compelled to testify in any trial that occurs and could not claim Fifth Amendment protection without being jailed for Contempt. Should Trump pardon him for THAT...he would certainly be nailed for Obstruction of Justice

I wonder is Trump would survive pardoning Manafort.

THis is why I think Trump might wait until the final days of his term.

Oh more of Jarods silly games.

What the hell I will play along

I hope he does pardon him because it will cause liberals to shit their pants and I love anything that drives liberals batshit

Does he deserve it? Not my call. The president has every right to pardon

Did Marc Rich deserve his pardon?

Have you asked whether others deserved their pardons?

How many of Obama’s pardons did you question?

If Obama can pardon drug users and drug dealers, then tax evasion should be a no brainer, especially when he was the victim of gangster era strong arm blackmail

Presidents should avoid ever pardoning or commuting the sentences of anyone who could plausibly be seen as being capable of providing evidence that could lead to serious legal trouble for the president or members of his immediate family. Making such pardons creates the appearance that the president traded it for their silence. That would definitely mean Manafort shouldn't be pardoned, since he's neck-deep in the same allegations that are hounding Trump and his family members. It would also underline how corrupt it was for Bush to commute Libby's sentence, or for his father to preemptively pardon the various Republicans who betrayed the US in the Iran/Contra affair. By comparison, consider Clinton who allowed Susan McDougal to serve her entire sentence related to refusing to testify about Whitewater. If Clinton had pardoned her to spare her that jail time, it would look like he was doing it so prosecutors couldn't use jail time to force her to reveal wrongdoing by him.

18 counts of tax evasion, bank fraud and money laundering. Just business in Trump's entourage. A crook like that should be admired as displaying righty values. He hid 16 offshore bank accounts from the IRS. Nothing wrong with that is there? Trump should pardon him, he needs practice for all the others he has to do later.

and he should be charged and convicted and sentenced.

But something tells me he will be over-sentenced because, as I have stated, he is being used gangster style blackmail to get at a bigger fish.

Trumps silent message to both Manafort and the prosecution is that if you over sentence him, I will fix it.
Sounds like justice to me.

if you give him the standard sentence for a crime such as the one he is guilty of, then so be it.

why do you nut-bags get all giddy at someone else's cross bearing

Manafort faces life in prison. 80 years is possible. You shrug it off from your right-wing bunker, but it is very real to him.
