Ideology over reality.

I have been working on a phrase that describes the real problem in American politics. My goal was simplicity and succinctness.

I think I have gotten it down to three words.

IDEOLOGY over REALITY

This is a serious problem on both sides of the isle. But, it describes Rump and his approach to governing. He does not care one inch about facts, only about his goal. The problem with this is that when those who govern become unattached to facts, they become unattached to reality. They develop an ideology and attach their ego to it, facts that would in the past cause people to reevaluate a portion of their ideology to allow governing to be reality based, the President (and many others) don't do this.

Its a problem with voters also because the result is ideologies that are completely un-tethered with reality. When it becomes more important to voters that their ideology wins, than work, the nation is fucked.

Its so much easier to "believe", something that supports your lifestyle, rather than change your lifestyle to fit reality.

Trump has zero ideology other than doing what's best for him. You really have been working on that?

So what's wrong with hope over experience?

I agree, with regards to Rump, his "ideology" is what makes he thinks makes him look good. He will play with the facts, at every moment, to place himself in a position that he believes makes himself to look to appear to be a national hero. He will play with reality all day long to keep his mind into a place that helps himself to be larger than life.

When governing, we can hope for a result, but we need facts to get us there.

We can hope for a utopia, but will never come closer to it without using reality to solve problems. You can hope certain legislation will work like you expect it to, but if its not based on facts it will not.

I think Ted Koppel was closer to what you want when he told Sean Hannity that he attracted people who considered ideology more important than facts. So Ideology vs. Fact would probably be a more correct paradigm.

What facts are you talking about, dumbass?

For example: Name a fact that Trump is ignoring that is threatening this country. Not threatening the democrat party, mind you, but that is threatening this country. Name one.

A little specificity, underpants.

You know exactly what I mean, shitstain...
The biggest threats to our democracy will not come from some religious nut job towel head wearing a bomb vest...
It will come from a Russian computer...
Putin is waging a cyber-war against democracies everywhere on the fucking planet and his orange asshole puppet is defending him in our press.

This is the most ideological government in American history. They are unwilling to put anything before their silly ideology. Including America.
