‘I Voted for Barack Because He Was Black’

I don't know if identity politics is the correct term but it is a phrase I've heard used a lot in San Francisco to describe local elections. It's been used to describe gays who backed the first openly gay member of the Board of Supervisors. Same with the Chinese and the BOS and now we have our first elected Chinese Mayor.

I understand people are debating/arguing the 'right' or 'wrong' of it but the reality is it exists.

You've made your position quite clear. You think it's OK for a black person or a woman to vote on the basis of race of sex only where the policy positions of the candidate are sufficiently similar. Basically, you see voting on the basis of race or sex only as a tie breakers. Otherwise, you think it's fucking ignorant. What am I missing?
 
Only a dumbass cracker or klansman can't see the benefits to blacks of having a black president. I'm shocked college grads are this shallow. Just proves education doesn't always overcome racist inbreeding.

I seriously doubt it. You don't know the level of ill will conservative women have for her.

I'm sure there'd be a few, about as many D women who crossed to vote for Sarah.

I don't know if you can make that big enough, but that is the gun I see in every single reply from anyone to anyone. And it appeared in my PM's when I answered a PM from someone. But only in the sent file. So the gun wasn't there in the person's PM, but it showed up when I replied to them. I checked my signature and there is no picture of any gun there. I don't know what's happening, but that's what I am seeing everywhere. It's so weird.

Yeah, that's pretty weird. Have you tried logging out and logging back in or turning off signatures?
