‘I Voted for Barack Because He Was Black’

r
if anyone doubted that the people of this country would forever remain divided, the complete ignorance displayed by those in this thready just cemented the fact that we'll always be divided.

sigh, too true

however, there will always be a few moderates in the middle, just too few

i do not know how this duplicate post occurred, but please ignore it

1) Moron, I did not say it was ALWAYS stupid. I stated CLEARLY that if you had two candidates running and both had similar policies/views THEN it would make sense to vote based on race/gender. The perfect example would be the primary between Hillary and Obama. Their policies were similar enough that you could certainly understand women voting Hillary and Blacks voting Obama.

2) What I DID say was that it was fucking ignorant of ANYONE to vote based simply on race/gender without any other considerations. As I stated, do you think Darla, Rana, Christie would EVER vote for Sarah Palin just because she is a woman? You conveniently side stepped that with your bullshit answer of 'I would never presume to tell people how to vote'. NO ONE asked you to TELL PEOPLE HOW TO VOTE you fucking idiot. I asked you do you THINK they would ever do so? YES or NO?

3) To say I 'have no good reason to ever consider it' is simply another bullshit response/excuse from you. Are you pretending that because I am a white guy I am not allowed to think of such things? Or consider their point of view? (yet somehow you are able to as a white guy?) I have considered their point of view. I can certainly understand the importance of barriers being broken. But I would never vote against MY OWN principals and by voting for someone whose policies/views were 180 degrees from mine, JUST to break a barrier. That would be fucking moronic.

So it's OK to vote based on race or sex, but only under the conditions that you deem appropriate. That's mighty white of you, SF.

Absolutely nothing but personal attacks here. I think you know you're in the wrong on this one, but just can't admit it.

I brought it up because I've heard it - a lot of it. But I also said I have zero comprehension of the black experience - because I'm not black. I don't think anyone who didn't grow up & live w/ that experience can understand it.

You certainly can't. The shite you say on this topic is mesmerizing. The equivalency you try to create is pure desperation, mixed w/ a couple of heaping tablespoons of ignorance.

The problem is you continue to miss the point. Poet even acknowledged he would never vote for a black man who wasn't liberal and Democrat. In other words, the black man must share similar views to his. If you really have experience working with blacks and have heard their stories, you would know that very very very few would EVER vote for someone just because of pigmentation. The candidates would have to share their views. That is why you get many, like Poet, who trash black conservatives and call them 'uncle toms' or say they 'vote against their best interests'.

The majority would not vote for Keyes or Cain any more than liberal women would vote for Palin. No matter what barrier might be broken. Only an idiot would abandon their views simply to 'break a barrier'... no matter how big a barrier it was being broken. Poet just proved that with his comments. I would imagine you would get similar responses from Darla, Rana, Christie on Palin or Bachmann

Let me guess, this is your idiotic way of saying 'you are not entitled to an opinion because you are a white guy'?

I again am ASKING you if you think they would vote for Palin or Bachmann simply because she is a woman? Why is that so hard for you to answer Dung?

To be clear, since you are a fucking moron, I am not asking you to TELL them how to vote. I am asking what you THINK? I know this is hard for you because you likely haven't been told what to think on this yet. Are you stalling until you get your answers fed to you by your masters?

So again moron, do you think so little of minorities and women that you think they would vote for a politician with completely different views/positions JUST because of race or gender? that's mighty white of you Dung.

Jackson stated that he's "just a politician," and that his message was meaningless to him. He's basically saying that all other things were equal in the equation. If he was all crazy ideological, and voted for someone whose views were opposite from him, you might have a point.

As it is, you don't.

which IS my point. He did not vote for someone that was ideologically opposed to him.

Apparently the GOP thought so or they wouldn't have hired Palin in the first place. Could you try to come up with two female candidates who have a complete brain of their own?

When you get a brain of your own and realize why I used those two in the example, do come on back and try responding again.

No, you're entitled to your opinion. I personally don't feel I have any basis for deciding how a black person or a woman should vote or whether they voted appropriately and I don't think you really have any basis either.

I again am ASKING you if you think they would vote for Palin or Bachmann simply because she is a woman? Why is that so hard for you to answer Dung?

If you go back and look, you asked me if liberal women should vote for Palin or Bachmann and I answered that question as best I could.

I don't know how they would vote. I imagine each individual would make and individual determination as to how to vote and that some individuals may vote solely on the basis of race or sex and it's not my place to pass judgment on that decision.

The above is nothing short of absurd. You do not have to be black or female to comprehend the fact that it would be completely ignorant to vote for someone who opposes your views just because of their race or gender. You saw how poet responded. I think we can both make educated guesses on how Darla, Rana and Christie would respond. Though you continue to cower and refuse to make that 'guess'. you instead continue rambling on about 'I would never presume to tell them how to vote'. Thanks for once again proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are incapable of formulating your own opinion. If it isn't spoon fed to you by your masters, you are unable to respond.

If you go back and look, you asked me if liberal women should vote for Palin or Bachmann and I answered that question as best I could.

No, you gave a chickenshit response, because you know I am right.

I don't know how they would vote. I imagine each individual would make and individual determination as to how to vote and that some individuals may vote solely on the basis of race or sex and it's not my place to pass judgment on that decision.

If you don't know, then you are fucking idiot. You have been on this board long enough to know they would never vote for women like Palin/Bachmann. You see, they are all intelligent women, they are not going to vote just because of gender.

Your point might have a little power if you used examples of women who someone might have actualy voted for.

My point dear Dune was to use women they WOULDN'T vote for. The point I am making is that they would not vote for a woman simply because she is a woman. I seriously doubt any of the three would ever vote for a conservative woman, despite intelligence level due to differing views on topics they hold dear. Only they can tell us that for certain... but that is beside the point I was making.

I wouldn't, but I'm not every woman. I recall the morning after the debate between Biden and Palin I was at a breakfast meeting at a diner, and I overheard the two waitresses who have worked there for a long time, both about 50'ish, exchanging how they thought she did such a great job. I could hear the pride in their voices. It really interested me. I doubt either of them were right wing republicans. I doubt they were very political at all. That's about identity. Really, if you are a 50 something woman working the breakfast shift in a diner, is who becomes President really going to have any effect on your life? It's highly doubtful, regardless of their policies. But a woman who everyone said was a big dummy being able to hold her own against Joe Biden, that made them feel proud. Maybe they could too.

I wouldn't judge them for voting for Palin just because she's a woman.

Do you really belive she held her own? I thought she set women back a few years with her canned one liners, "Can I call you Joe?" "Say it isent so, Joe"

So, again, its OK to vote on the basis of race or sex but only under the circumstances that you think are appropriate. I think that's stupid and am not going to announce any universal rules for how black folks and women should vote and under what circumstances. Apparently, you think you're qualified to do that. I'm quite certain that I'm not.

No, you gave a chickenshit response, because you know I am right.

Right on.

If you don't know, then you are fucking idiot. You have been on this board long enough to know they would never vote for women like Palin/Bachmann. You see, they are all intelligent women, they are not going to vote just because of gender.

Actually, your questions were about "women" and "black people." So, like I said . . .

And? Do I care? No one cares that you think yourself a Civil War General. How grandiose.

It's called a moniker. It's make-believe, kind of like you calling yourself "Poet." And there is a reason I chose the worst general of the civil war - it was my way of being comical. Of course, someone who doesn't know their history wouldn't be able to grasp that, would they now.

Every fucking day, you announce that somebody is on your ignore list, only to later respond to one of that person's posts. It's ridiculous. Nobody gives a damn who you're ignoring, especially when you only ignore them when it's convenient for you. Are you really so self-absorbed that you think anyone gives a damn?

It's actually a mind game. The silly bastard racist is just trying to mess with our heads. I think it's pretty funny, to be honest.

Yet I bet there are republican womem that would have voted for Hillary.
