I like Christie's style.

Your posts here show you expect some form of respect, the problem is you don't give the teacher (an authority figure) any responsibility towards others. You pretend the Governor spoke into a vacuum, not in answer to another simply being rude. She made a huge point of her authority, had she spoken anonymously I may have given her more leeway as it was a political function so attempting to make the "opposition" act like you want them to is normal. Instead she presented herself as a public servant who had authority over others.
You need to recognize where butt-fuck-greenie is coming from. The video shows a LIBERAL asking a question of a CONSERVATIVE. Obviously, since conservatives are two steps below pond scum, there is no reason to expect a LIBERAL to show any kind of respect. Meanwhile, the LIBERAL, being the highest epitome of biological and cognitive evolution, no action of theirs can be called into question, ESPECIALLY by a knuckle dragging CONSERVATIVE. Especially especially a FAT knuckle dragging conservative.

Sad. This is simply an inane attempt to shut down others with name calling. It's like the "racist" rubbish when somebody points out policy that they don't like. It shows that you have run out of any salient argument and no longer even have the ability to even pretend your position is supportable.

You simply give the only responsibility to others to the one who is "opposition" party from you. I understand where it comes from, but it really is just sad. Dude answered all the questions directly and with facts, I like that.

I think he showed amazing restraint after her childish tantrum.

Amazing restraint Damo...really? Jumping down her throat is amazing restraint? You know Damo, I'd really like to believe my depiction of your belief in conformity and subservience to the governor is an exaggeration, but then your ridiculous exaggeration of a 'tantrum' supports my claim.

The first words out of Christie's mouth was a LIE. He said he didn't lambaste the public school system in NJ...REALLY?

You like to use the 'racist' reference a lot Damo, so let's go with it. Christie is a man who has compared teachers to 'drug dealers' and students to 'drug mules'. He ostracized teachers for tainting students with political talk in the classroom, then he talks politics to a group of students in Trenton and tells the students their teachers are greedy and the teachers are to blame for not having school supplies. Then we expect those kids to go back to their classrooms and exhibit proper behavior and respect for their teachers?

In the racist framework you like to use so much, Christie is calling teachers the 'N' word. But it's much worse, because a drug dealer has nothing to do with skin color. A drug dealer is the lowest form of life in our society...THAT is how a man of 'amazing restraint' views teachers and educators Damo?

I went to public school and college and have raised two children who did the same. When I think back on all the teachers and coaches I had over the years and all the teachers and coaches my wife and I met as our kids grew up, the word 'greedy' has never entered my mind...not ONCE. If anything, the words mentors, givers and people who share my desires and concerns that my children succeed in school and life comes to my mind.

What IS sad Damo is how much people who call themselves 'conservative' gravitate toward and worship authoritarian bullies like Christie. And how they say they are for less government, yet they get so excited when a government bully like Christie belittles and trashes teachers and dictates to hard working people.

Sad and ironic Damo, during the health care debate a few summers ago conservatives were wildly supporting tantrums. They were even instructed on HOW to throw them. Tea Partiers were transported on buses provided by lobbyists to town hall meetings and given a written harassment strategy on how to shout down legislators, drown out other citizens, and disrupt town hall meetings. The tea partiers even boasted they were using Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals as their tactics.

I guess your beloved despot THE governor calling teachers 'drug dealers' and 'greedy', and tea partiers throwing contrived tantrums and disrupting town hall meetings based on Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals is what conservatives call 'amazing restraint'

Did she interrupt him? No. He was grandstanding. He had to 'scold' her, not just a 'please let me reply'. He carried it to the point where he belittled her and made her answer his scolding. It was classless and crass.

You say you're 'for people not government' ...well freak, the whole concept OF our government is the governor works her, not the other way around. It was as if a child scolded his mother in public.

The truth about Christie will continue to manifest. His comparing teachers to drug dealers tells me this guy is the quintessential right wing conservative; someone who makes his case by diminishing others or requiring some group of human beings to evaporate.

But, what also continues to manifest is your allegiance to your beloved government, when the 'people' belong to a union, and the 'government' is a right wing authoritarian.

Equality, rightly understood as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences; wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism.
Barry Goldwater

You are a political hack in every sense of the word.

You are a political hack in every sense of the word.

I never compared teachers to drug dealers or stood up before a group of high school students and said their teachers were greedy and the reason the students didn't have supplies...

But Governor Christie DID... HE is the political hack. And so are you. Because you are so deeply entrenched in your far right wing ideology, you're unable to see right from wrong.

"Labor is the United States. The men and women, who with their minds, their hearts and hands, create the wealth that is shared in this country—they are America."
President Dwight D. Eisenhower

The trouble I have with Christie and others like him is are all groups treated equally. States have to manage their resources, but not only on the backs of the workers. Teachers in NJ tell me administrative staff was not cut and real waste was left alone if it supported certain constituencies. But I have to admit the information is not detailed enough to figure out where sense lies.

This argument always kills me. Poor Ms Smith is a poor teacher, but because the Union protects her with worker rights and legal procedure they cannot fire poor Ms Smith. What hogwash! How many good teachers are there in the whole world? And especially in America where being smart and educated is actually looked down on by the conservatives. Why just think if Christie got rid of Ms Smith, utopia would be right around the corner, what BS. Anyone who has lived life even a few years past HS knows truly concerned and competent people are rare. I know that sounds cynical, but I have been a manager etc etc for a long long time, and even among the high wage earners genuine dedication and talent is rare. Just the way it is, you all remember that bell curve thingee. This argument is irrelevant and stupid, next.

What BarFGReeN fails to pass on is this teacher was hurling inaccurate accusations at Christie and tried to assign an agenda to him and his administration that was totally inaccurate. He put her in her place and did so neatly and summarily. She came prepared to whine and screech and he stopped her in her tracks with f-a-c-t-s.

The guy is a no-nonsense, tell the truth no matter how uncomfortable it is, and to set the record straight.

Is he human? Of course and he will not get everything right, but so far so good and hopefully he won't be tainted by the slimebuckets.

That's why Bfgrn is so upset at Christie. He dared used facts when the woman was interested in an emotional argument.

This wall of text doesn't show anything to support your position, nor Christie "jumping down her throat". In fact it simply shows you didn't watch the video, or listen to a word of it, and then it simply repeats over and over the same sad name-calling used in an attempt to shut down actual conversation. Your attempt to control what I say and how I act has failed, miserably, and without anybody being convinced that I am an "authoritarian" or "worship" people who are direct and honest.

He wasn't even rude, IMO. It isn't "rude" to honestly and directly tell somebody else they are rude.

Your silly name calling crap might work with 7th graders you have power over, but here it's just weak.

Well you're consistent...you hear and see only what you want to hear and see...and it's your narrative; what YOU consider accepted behavior and who conforms to it...NO consideration for the fact the Governor compared teachers to drug dealers...

THAT my friend is sad. You cannot accept the teacher's reaction to the governor's lie...THAT is a gross violation. But the governor comparing teachers to drug dealers...no big deal

I'm sure when the governor compared the teachers to drug dealers, he was calm and followed your emotionless protocol.

He never compared teachers to drug dealers, not in this video. He did inform as to the actions of the union leaders, which are not the same thing as the generic "teachers"... So, link us up to the comparisons. My guess is we'll find that he's not talking about all teachers, and he's comparing actions and not people.

Repeating nonsense doesn't make it true, even if you really really want to try to "shut up" the opposition in some sad form of nonsense attack. Your love of the status quo, in this case, is amazingly conservative.
