I like Christie's style.

This video is all I know of him. But I do know in modern times we haven't had a pres that was tha much of a fat piece of shit waste.

But Topper, isn't that the shape of the people of this country now? Aren't we all obese, walking heart-attacks waiting to happen like Christie? So won't we likely vote for those who are like us? ;)

Seriously, I agree with you. I like the guy in the situations I have seen him even though I don't agree with all of his political stances, but I do think he doesn't have a chance at becoming POTUS...because of his physical make-up as well as because of his matter of fact way of dealing with folks. Like the one in this video. No matter how crazy folks think the lady who ran for CA governor was...he intervened when he thought someone was in the wrong.

No obviously we aren't all whale size like christie. That Orka's heart might explode before the primaries. If he wants to win, he better buy a treadmill first and switch to singles at wendies instead of triples.

It's the way he handled the situation. She asked her questions, and made her comments. She did not interrupt his response. He could have ignored her body language, but he had to ostracize, belittle and embarrass her. It was uncalled for. He claims he didn't lambaste the public school system. WHAT would call comparing teachers to drug dealers?

Authoritarians need to dismantle and destroy. They are not builders.

LMAO.... he listened to her comments with respect. She in turn almost immediately began making grand body gestures in an attempt to belittle HIM. Calling her out for being rude is not belittling her. He asked her to show the same respect for him that he had shown for her while she was speaking. She embarrassed herself.

YouTube - Gov. Chris Christie christiefies another heckler "you want to yell, yell at me"

great video.... that guy was like 'well, fuck... my shouting usually intimidates people... now what do I do?'

Where are all the "fat" jokes from Ice Dancer and Loyal. Christie is a big man, and I thought shallow conservatives were offended by "fat"?????? I guess "fat" is okay when it is conservative "fat".

they are enough to keep Christy and any other below average looking politician from the winners cirle.

The authoritarian is Christie. The teacher asked him WHY teachers now have to buy supplies for their students out of their pockets.
"I wonder how your reforms are going to help the middle class when so many middle class teachers have been laid off this year and so many middle class teachers are spending tons of money out of their pockets to supplement the budgets that were cut so they can buy supplies and so many parents are having to outlay more and more money now for programs that were originally paid for by the schoold districts; and I'd also like to say *um* New Jersey has some of the best schools in the country and this administration has done nothing but lambaste us and tell us what horrible schools we have, we have some failing schools but the majority of our schools are wonderful and fantastic and this school district has many of them and I feel like you have alienated so many people with your rhetoric about how we are bilking this state of all this money when I'm a taxpayer and because of the budget cuts that you have implemented I am going to have a hard time paying my bills this year?"

That is hardly a question solely about teachers paying for supplies. Then when he tried to answer her question, she scoffed and acted like an ass. You can even watch her rolling her eyes and turning her head like a teenager. You call that "authoritarian", I call that simple courtesy. He didn't scoff or dismiss her, not even once, during her entire run-on sentence. He didn't roll his eyes, he didn't turn away in some dismissive manner. All he did was ask her to treat him with, at the very least, the same respect that he showed to her.

He made it clear where the "cuts" came from, and it wasn't from the state. Although such a one time line item shouldn't be spent all in one year from a Governor who is attempting to get re-elected... that's beside the point. He didn't cut the state budget for schools, he simply didn't have the federal money that was given to and used by the previous Governor. He made it clear that they increased the state's portion of the budget for schools.

He then made it clear that lambasting the leaders of a union is not the same thing as lambasting the schools. He then explained why teachers were being laid off and gave an explanation as to why he was specifically lambasting the union leaders.

I totally disagree with "authoritarian" label you want to use to dismiss what he actually said and fully understand why you would want to dismiss the reality of what he said. I want to know what was "authoritarian" about anything in his answer. He simply and directly gave inofrmation as to how and why decisions were made.

He showed that the State itself was spending MORE on education rather than less and gave her reasons for what was done.

Did she interrupt him? No. He was grandstanding. He had to 'scold' her, not just a 'please let me reply'. He carried it to the point where he belittled her and made her answer his scolding. It was classless and crass.

You say you're 'for people not government' ...well freak, the whole concept OF our government is the governor works her, not the other way around. It was as if a child scolded his mother in public.

The truth about Christie will continue to manifest. His comparing teachers to drug dealers tells me this guy is the quintessential right wing conservative; someone who makes his case by diminishing others or requiring some group of human beings to evaporate.

But, what also continues to manifest is your allegiance to your beloved government, when the 'people' belong to a union, and the 'government' is a right wing authoritarian.

Equality, rightly understood as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences; wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism.

I didn't realize the author of "Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot" was a conservative...

Yes, she did interrupt him later in the tape as well as totally acting like a teenaged ass when he first began to answer her question. The microphone dude didn't put it under her face but you see her speaking then him directly answer the interruption.

Asking for simple courtesy isn't "lecturing" her, nor should it have been necessary.

"Allegiance" has nothing to do with it. Expectation to treat others with respect has nothing to do with government. I absolutely do not need my child's teacher giving that asinine example to my child and if my child was in her class I would absolutely request that she apologize and I would have used it as a negative example to teach my child what not to do when expecting a dialog in an open forum.

You are quite insane. He had hardly begun speaking when she started the overly dramatic head rolling etc. He then gave her a choice of respectfully listening to his answer or having him move on to another question from someone else. She was acting like a spoiled child and he called her out on it. That is not totalitarian in nature. It was EXACTLY what he should do. You think calling an adult out for acting like a spoiled child is classless and crass? THAT is why this country is going down hill. People like you seem to think it is ok to act in any childish manner you wish and that others shouldn't have the right to call you out on it.

You say you're 'for people not government' ...well freak, the whole concept OF our government is the governor works her, not the other way around. It was as if a child scolded his mother in public.

There was a child in this situation. But it wasn't Christie. It was the adult acting like a spoiled brat. Just because he works for the people, doesn't mean he isn't deserving of some level of respect. If you act like a child, be prepared to be treated as one.

Yes, of course...your authoritarian figure has the right to dictate people's behavior and how people must act. She didn't SAY A WORD...she didn't interrupt his reply, but your little dictator didn't like her behavior and he jumped on her immediately. If she wants to do jumping jacks while he answers, that is her right.

Just as I stated... you are part of the problem. He doesn't HAVE to answer her questions. As sane people see it, he gave her an option. Stop acting like a child and have her question answered or keep acting like a child and be ignored.

But do go on showing your true colors.

I'm sorry...I forgot you believe government HAS the right to control the people, even scold or threaten to move on to someone else if they don't 'behave'...people must submit to government 'authority' We are merely 'subjects'...got it!

What he sould have done was ask her how she would handle a student who behaved the way she was behaving while she answered a question or lectured. Or her own child. A student behaves that way while I am lecturing and that student get their bottom paddled. My child behaves that way and he gets a belt. Respect and courtesy...these are still important to some folks....and should be to others.

Sigh...yes, SF, this lack of respect (demonstrated on both sides of the political aisle I have to say to be fair) is a lot of what is wrong in this country...and elsewhere.
