Or maybe we can collect all the dead and grind up their corpses and feed the mash to the local survivors and afterwards tell them they just ate their own dead...

That'd REALLY put the fear of God(no pun intended) in those people.

This is just blather.

And some of us want to make a larger deal out of it than it is. There will be some who minimize, others who understand and want them to suffer due punishment (not overkill due to media hype), and then others who will want to pretend that this one act will be seen as the reason for terrorism to exist. It was an act for which people will be duly punished, or for which people will be severely punished due to the fact that it was politicized by idiots.

Nobody in charge of these men are saying that it was okay.

I do believe in going to war for the right reasons and when we do go to war then I do want our enemies to fear the ever loving hell out of us. You can't go to war and play nicey nice. The objective for a soldier in war is to kill the enemy. That's not nice, pissed on or not. If pissing on their dead soldiers hurts our enemies feelings thats tough shit cause we should intend to do a lot more then hurt their fucking feelings. I mean the mother fuckers are trying to kill us after all.

I'll repeat myself again, if were worried about winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people in this war, then we are there for the wrong reasons and we need to leave.

Exactly Damo. Well said. I'm not sayinig it's ok either. I'm saying it's understandable. They just killed an enemy soldier that was trying to kill them.

If were truly in the moral right in this war, why should that matter? Ya'll are missing my point. This is beig blown completely out of proportion. Yea....it was in bad taste for a soldier to piss on some guy who a few minutes earlier was trying to kill him. It was even dumber to post it on youtube. This psychobable bullshit people are talking that "it will steel the enemies resolve!" is just plain stupid. Trust me, knowing that we are going to kill them will motivate them a hell of a lot more then a golden shower will.

I mean for fucks sake, give the guy an appropriate punishment of doing drills till he pukes and then make him stand gaurd all night.

Yeah, because dragging soldiers through the streets doesn't, etc. This isn't going to be the reason for their resolve. Just as it wouldn't for yours. It is enough we invaded for them to fight. Pretending that this is going to make the difference is what is ridiculous. Again, nobody says what they did was right, it just isn't the central reason for terrorism nor a reason to do much more than West stated. Punish them, but don't make a federal case of it. People who tell you that this will cause terrorism more than bombing houses does are just saying what you want to hear.

Being there and killing people will create resolve, this just makes us look like humans with human failings.
 
So...these guys, who willing agree to blow themselves up on a regular basis, or fight the largest, most highly trained, technologically advanced and equiped military in the world, on their own, with no national backing or really any serious organization, aren't sure of their resolve until we piss on them?
