I (gulp) agree with Alan West!

Fuckin A right. It's war. If I was in combat and came across some poor dead bastard who just minutes ago was trying to kill me I'd piss on the cocksucker too.

So then no one gets to bitch and moan when the enemy hacks one of our guys heads off.

If we are going to act like barbaric savages, then don't whine when the other side acts the same way.

Since you equate a golden shower with beheading, then you would have no problem of the US Soldiers sawing an enemy combatant's head off, and then televising it on the evening news!!

Did I say that?

I'd ask you to point to where exactly I said that, but everyone already knows you don't do corroboration.

Yep, you made the comparison and this can be seen by the exchange of comments listed above.
Now take your time and try to find a way to salvage what little dignity you have left.

How incredibly niave. War is barbaric. As Sherman said "You cannot refine it.". If you don't like barbarism. Don't go to war!

Yes it is barbaric. But the actions of those Marines endangers the lives of all our service people and welcomes retribution. Are we going to totally ignore those ramifications? Isn't winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people the ONLY way to ultimately succeed? Haven't we learned anything from Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo?

Matthew Alexander led the interrogations team that located Abu Musab al Zarqawi, the former leader of Al Qaida in Iraq, who was killed by Coalition Forces.

"I learned in Iraq that the No. 1 reason foreign fighters flocked there to fight were the abuses carried out at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo. Our policy of torture was directly and swiftly recruiting fighters for al-Qaeda in Iraq. The large majority of suicide bombings in Iraq are still carried out by these foreigners. They are also involved in most of the attacks on U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq. It's no exaggeration to say that at least half of our losses and casualties in that country have come at the hands of foreigners who joined the fray because of our program of detainee abuse. The number of U.S. soldiers who have died because of our torture policy will never be definitively known, but it is fair to say that it is close to the number of lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. How anyone can say that torture keeps Americans safe is beyond me -- unless you don't count American soldiers as Americans."

Preventive war was an invention of Hitler. Frankly, I would not even listen to anyone seriously that came and talked about such a thing.

I hear that same bullshit during Vietnam. If were over there to win there hearts and minds instead of eliminating a clear and present danger to our national security then were there for the wrong fucking reasons and we need to end that war and get the fuck out. Hows that for ending barbarism?

Cause I'm here to tell you pissing on some dead enemy soldier isn't endangering our soldiers lives. Being at war for the wrong fucking reasons is!

It's not bullshit, unless you somehow believe the Afghan people are barbarians. Talk about being fucking NAIVE!

I will say that I belive our troops should be held to a better/higher standard than the Taliban fighters and Iraui trooops who abused the bodies of American troops and blackwater agents.

And they are, it's the overhype that West is speaking of... punish them, yes, but dwell on it talking about "outrage" etc for weeks on end is a bit much. They did wrong and will be punished.

Sure....and have the crazy sunsabitches fly another jet into one of our buildings? I don't think so. We need to bootstrap their asses into modernity. Question is, who do we do with out killing everyone of the cocksuckers?

Can they achieve modernity? Take away their ability to access western flights (such as trade and travel bans), and that particular problem is solved.

I don't believe that at all about the Afghan people and it's not my point.

I just don't believe in going to war for the wrong reasons. Like I said. The best way to end the barbarism is to end the war.

I do believe in going to war for the right reasons and when we do go to war then I do want our enemies to fear the ever loving hell out of us. You can't go to war and play nicey nice. The objective for a soldier in war is to kill the enemy. That's not nice, pissed on or not. If pissing on their dead soldiers hurts our enemies feelings thats tough shit cause we should intend to do a lot more then hurt their fucking feelings. I mean the mother fuckers are trying to kill us after all.

I'll repeat myself again, if were worried about winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people in this war, then we are there for the wrong reasons and we need to leave.

Well what pisses me off is because the media is making such a big deal with their faux outrage and because it has now entered the political arena those poor dumb bastards will get punished well beyond what they deserve. Hell they killed an armed enemy in combat and pissed on them. I think they should get a medal! Fuck these pussies who don't understand that war means killing your enemy and that there's no polite way to do that. You can't show any one more disrespect then killing them for Christs sakes!

The current 5.56x45mm NATO round that we use weights 62 grains. Out of a 20in barrel it travels around 3100 feet per second. Upon impact, if it acts as designed, the copper jacket is supposed to fragment into several smaller pieces that travel on different courses through out the body, causing several smaller wound tracts from the original injury. Additionally, the lead/steel core (it's a mix of both) is intended to tumble and yaw end over end through the body, doing at least 1 complete 360 degree turn. In this manner the 5.56 is quite a gruesome tool when used singly. All combat drills call for 2 shots center mass and a final shot to the brain. Needless to say this is pretty horrific trauma for a human body to handle. It liquidates internal organs and destroys muscle tissue with ease.

I don't even WANT to describe what a m67 fragmentation grenade, 40mm grenade round, or 155mm artillery shell do.
All of this is ok, but if someone takes a piss on the guy afterwards, that's too much. Yeah, ok guys.

I did no such thing...I merely postulated a causal relationship.

IF we are...THEN...see how that works?

You go right on making shit up however...it's all you've got.

You don't think when the locals see pictures of OUR guys committing such a despicable act to their loved one's corpses that they won't want some retribution?

And you called me naive...

Well maybe if some folk didn't spend weeks trying to minimize what those soldiers did and stopped trying to pretend it wasn't a despicable act to those dead soldier's families, then it might go away sooner.

War means killing your enemy...it DOESN'T mean killing him, and then committing atrocities to his corpse.

How hard is that to understand?

Why don't we saw their bodies in half and place them on pikes for all to see??

That will really show how serious we are...

Huh?
