I don't know about you, but I don't remember a time in the past 200 years where the people storming churches were the good guys...

I disagree, the reason for taking sanctuary in an embassy is to avoid arrest. Arresting people as they leave a church has a chilling effect on freedom of religion. There are other ways and means of arresting people that would be less harmful than waiting outside a place of worship. If a person is using a Church as a method of evading arrest, I would be okay with arresting them if they leave. If they are casually going to church and leaving when the service is over, I think there is generally a better way.

I do not believe child porn is a non-violent crime. That being said, there are much better ways and locations for arresting such a person. Follow them home then arrest them. Doing it as they leave a church is simply a worse way.

Churches are literally the place that "Sanctuary" was named for... again, I get what you are saying, but it is what it is. Lying about "storming churches" are a deliberate gaslight for the emotive idiot you know you can sway as they will not check.

The easiest is to place a detainer on someone in Jail so they can be picked up there and therefore sweeps would be unnecessary, thus ensuring the folks that are not their target are caught up in a sweep. The issue is that in these places, regardless of the crime associated they refuse to hold them.

I do not know the facts that are alleged, but speaking theoretically, generally I believe that laying in wait to arrest non-violent offenders as they leave a place of worship should be avoided if possible. It should never be a tactic.

I agree, that would generally be the easiest way.

In VERY liberal Palm Beach County, when I was a prosecutor, if we knew someone who had committed a violent crime could be detained due to immigration status, we would call border patrol. That was 25 years ago. I personally did it a few times, let them know that such a person was being released at this time and place... It was an effective way of getting dangerous people off the streets.

Not sure I would do that in todays environment, because I do not believe they should be sent to a prison known for torture, like what happened to Abrego Garcia.

I somewhat agree, that is different than the original complaint. I think they should be arrested at the first opportunity that does not present a great risk to the general public. Laying in wait outside a Church when you know where they live is not that.

law enforcement officers can arrest the suspect named on the warrant anytime, anywhere.

EXACTLY. The sanctuary laws are making it less dangerous for violent criminal aliens and more dangerous for non violent illegal aliens that get swept up in raids. If you are a nonviolent illegal and ICE raids your apartment looking for a child rapist roommate you are going to get arrested and deported too.
