Hundreds of Macy's, Sears & Kmart stores closing soon....

Sorry BAC, that's ignoring years of economic reality to think these stores started closing years ago because they knew Trump would be President one day with anti-trade rhetoric.

One has to pretty much live in a cave to not be aware of what online retailing has done to traditional retailers. This has nothing to do with President's.

It isn't just KMart and Sears closing stores .. there are 17 other major retailers that will be closing stores.

With threats of anti trade policies on the immediate horizon .. you' would have to be living in that cave to believe that retailers don't factor the coming economy and economic outlook into their decisions.

They didn't close years ago because they projected the possibility of a better future and economic outcome.

In general, who has been more a backer of free trade? It's been Republicans. And no we don't have a free market which is why i said freer. And at the end of the day my beliefs won't change because the parties may change.

Republicans have been backers of unfettered trade, and unfettered capitalism. I don't agree with either.

Come on man, you know better than this. This has been trending for years. This didn't all happen yesterday.

You're not listening. I'm not at all claiming this all happened yesterday.

I am claiming that projecting future sales under anti-trade policies does not bode well for staying open in an already struggling market.

Are you of the opinion that WalMart isn't projecting what this will mean to their business and if they need to close more stores??

Let's see. I didn't vote for Trump nor do I support Trump. But I can have a rational conversation about what is happening. You can't even do that.

Oh look!!! They're already starting to deny supporting the clown!!!!

Six months from now, you'll be hard pressed to find one who'll admit it.

2% GDP for as long as I can recall..online shopping goes up exponentially every year.
For some reason the X'rs and millenials prefer to get everything online. I've seen damn near everything home delivered by now.

Those are the macro-trends at hand. Amazon rules the world..it's just he way it is..wait for home drones shopping

So Macy's etc. aren't getting their ass kicked because of online retailers it's because of anti-trade rhetoric? BAC, you are smarter than that.

Deliveries of pizza, medicine, and other day-to-day products from the sky may be closer than you think.

the company, called Flirtey, in July made its first household delivery via drone, from a 7-Eleven.
Flirtey likes to say its partnership with the convenience-store chain will save parents with sick children a late-night run to the store for medicine.
But the drone deliveries are conveniently made with insulated boxes, so a chili dog and Slurpee dropping from the sky to your home is within reach.

Unrestricted trade is unfettered trade.

Are you seriously suggesting that republicans haven't championed unrestricted trade?

Don't make me dig it out for you.

Please feel free to because I'd love to see it as I don't think they'd ever try anything that smart

Very interesting. That's different than the OP which is about clothing retail stores but interesting nonetheless.
