Agreed Trump is the source and the reaction, but disagreed on "power".

Trump is obviously delusional. Even before the election he was long known to be a conspiracy theorist. It's possible for people to follow Trump because he's the "R" on the election ballot without buying into his nutjob theories. Those who do buy into his nutjob theories are either equally delusional or just stupid.

I agree for the most part. The people on this forum buy into all of it. Because it fits the narrative that they are 'real Americans' and their perceived enemies are not. I would guess that you and I could have some great discussions on the issues of the day, and we would probably find ourselves on opposite sides on many of those issues. I'm fine with that. These people do not share that ability, and have no interest in it. I know there are people who support Trump because SCOTUS, and abortion, and tax cuts. I believe that's a Faustian bargain. They may be worse than these blind cult members, but that's a discussion for another day. I know those in the Senate who have made bargain and going to regret it when their name is on the ballot next. Either way, I think we agree about the makeup of the Trump base. But only the one side of that base is represented here IMHO.

Smart, sane and educated people know that if you are over six feet away, you don't need to wear a mask. If you're less then it's wise to wear a mask.

Whole heartedly agree. That's why discussion is futile and hurling insults with bare bones gainsaying is the only rewarding thing to do.

To follow you point, I have said that all those policy discussions could be had and all the positions Trump has taken, even the worst
framed wedge issues, could be brought up in a sober manner if only Trump could possibly remove the rancorous trolling he does.

Are you appealing to a higher authority w/ that science line?

Personally, I just want the economy to rebound as fast as possible. Anyone who doesn't wear a mask because they've made it political is keeping that from happening.
