How Germany Builds Twice as Many Cars as the U.S. (pays workers twice amount)

Read threads before you post..........

This is the first time I've ever seen a Wiki not link with reality. I've never slammed Wiki before bone head. This time, it's not legit. Wiki depends on lots of people producing facts to ensure it is fact. Most are correct, this one is not. Again, I already posted the information child.

Hahahahahaha

i know a man with a Mercedes that hasn't run for months!

I don't know whether to blame the car or the owner!

Funny because the OICA data that your link is posted that I DIRECTLY LINKED TO says otherwise.

Does your insight affect fleets of cabs in Europe?

Additionally, I am reasonably certain it is the fault of the owner, not the car.

Opinion, unsubstantiated.

In Norway Mercedes Benz station wagons are used exclusively for cabs. They get excellent fuel mileage and are run for 1,000,000 miles on average before being dismantled and used for parts to maintain the rest of the fleets.

I have seen a Crown Vic go 400,000 and a diesel F-250 go 650,000 by those were few and far between, not routine and not nearly one million miles.
Link up.

The cost of owning a car in Norway is exceedingly high due to taxes, so owners have a huge incentive to fix and maintain their vehicles, and hold onto them for as long as possible. It's not at all like the US where folks make every excuse to get rid of their old car just because they want a new one.

For a fair comparison of longevity compare ownership of a US brand car vs. a German brand of the same price and in the same locale.

So people who want their cars to last am long time buy German cars. Got it.

Here is the U.S. any junk will do. Got it.

Why? It is a matter of public record that most cabs in Scandanavia are Mercedes. If they can run for a million miles there, then are are obviously of very high quality.

They also have emission and import regulations that tax the shit out of many American cars. A $55,000 Corvette costs about $300,000 over there (Sweden).
