I don't think you know what "extremism" means. That implies that something is on the fringes.

When more people vote for something, it isn't extreme.

It's extreme relative to the rest of the country and extreme relative to where even democrats were 15-20 years ago. Bill Clinton isn't far enough to the left to suit today's democrat party.

They may well have elected a socialist[!] if Bernie hadn't been screwed by the DNC in their primary.

The whole country doesn't want to partake of CA's madness.
