Hegseth hosts first meeting of what he says will be a monthly Christian prayer service at Pentagon

This all began with the "If Ilhan Omar did this same thing" statement from ThatOwlWoman. And I said, have you asked her to? And predicted that the reaction would be different than she predicted.

Given all the shade thrown her way by MAGATs, any Muslim prayer service in a govt. office hosted by Ms. Omar would enrage those same MAGATs. Maybe you've missed all the negative comments, mostly based on her religion, from the RW?

We disagree on this being a violation of the establishment clause, shoot even a liberal attorney agreed it is not (Jarod). In order to get me upset about constitutional issues, you first need to actually violate the constitution. SB-003 in Colorado, that is one, it merited action.

This? Some dudes praying after work hours? You have nothing. I could not care less that they talk to their imaginary friend after work hours. Uncomfortable if I was there, I always am during public prayers. I don't know what to do. I don't want to pretend I'm participating so I just stand there and watch.

However, if I was there it would be because I chose to be there... and was spending my own time on it.
I see both Hegseth's actions and SB-003 as being violations.

Your mischaracterization of Hegseth simply praying after work is interesting.

Hegseth preying after work in that Trumpanzees thieving Eisenhower presented old glorys arsonists Trumpanazis thieving Israel old testaments arsonists Trumpamengele human reproduction medical pseudoscience of “one nation under God with equal justice under law” prayers…..

Hegseth is more accurately preying, instead of praying.
Preying with Christian Nation SCOTUS standing that George Washington University Hospital Washington, D.C. born USA citizens are Islam for the Bicentennial and also Islam for those crooks on Capital Hill celebrating Christian Nation SCOTUS Rehnquist “what is 9/11 ?” rhetorical Freudian slip where once is an accident, twice is a coincidence while there are no coincidences as thrice is just Federal Lynching KKKidnapping churchstate of hate thieving Eisenhower presented old glorys and Israel old testaments arsonists fiefdom enforcement’s national religion of “one nation under God with equal justice under law”…….

I could not care less what your opinion is on the matter. Nobody but you, so far, has tried to argue that it is unconstitutional, considering it is done after hours and voluntary and there have been rulings that say it is just fine to do such things. So. Since it is not unconstitutional I find the conversation a bunch of nonsense really. He's a terrible man, talking to his invisible friend about the safety of our troops. What a jerk. *yawn*

Why is it necessary at all? Why can’t he hold it off site, like at his home? Making it voluntary doesn’t eliminate the pressure to attend. People will feel like they need to attend to stay in good with the boss.
It may not be unConstitional, but it’s crossing a line, it’s pushing boundaries He posted it on the Defense site. Why was that necessary? It was led by his Evangelical pastor, it isn’t Ecumenical. So many red lights about this.

As I noted earlier, your rights do not come to you from necessity, nor does your ability to exercise them. Rights sometimes need to be exercised just to maintain them. He has the right to believe in something and to pray on his own time, he even has a right to lead prayers so long as they are voluntary according to rulings from the SCOTUS. I would not go to these, as I also noted earlier, I find it awkward to just watch folks pray.

Obviously you do care, Damo. You're also pushing a lie which I find even more interesting.

In a move that pushes the boundaries of Constitutional prohibition against a state religion, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth hosted an evangelical prayer service in the middle of the day at the Pentagon in which a pastor praised President Donald Trump as "sovereignly appointed."

A program for the event called it the "Secretary of Defense Christian Prayer and Worship Service." It was held at the Pentagon's auditorium and was broadcast throughout the building on its internal cable network.

It's nothing more than virtue-signaling by someone who's very worried, as he should be, that he's going to be fired. He ignored Jesus's admonition to pray and worship privately when he announced it to the RW media. It's exactly like Toxic's constant self-promotion with smarmy memes and cliched quotes -- "Look at me! See how wonderful/devout/smart/nice/Christian I am!" Hence her defense. Why Damo is defending it, who knows. He's a contrarian. lol

Agreed on the above about rights. As proved previously, that's not what Hegseth was doing.

More hurt Democrat feelings... What outrages next? This is a
Wonderful service...
