Have you ever been proud of your race?

The same way I take pride in my sports teams...or my high school...or my nieces and nephews...and a ton of other things over which I have no control or input. And when OU has a player get in trouble as student athletes sometimes do, I am ashamed but I am still proud of OU's accomplishments. Yes, Lee Greenwood had it right.

So here's a good question. Which are you more proud of? Being an American or an Okie?

I don't know why people make such a big deal out of this. Being proud of being an American is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Now being proud of being from some place like michigan.....now that takes effort!!!

I think that comment puts leaningright up for educator of the year. In fact, if we could clone 1 million of you leaningright the U.S. education system would be tops in the world by far.

Why do liberals always tell lies? The woman in question had gone away from the conflict and then returned with a gun and fired the shot. Because she had already escaped the violent encounter and later returned, the self defense argument was rejected. Please educate yourself. Your chosen authority for news feeds you half-truths.

Don't really get it. We're all born the way we're born. To put a value on your own skin color, whether negative or positive, just perpetuates the idea that skin color is some sort of defining & important thing, and something we should take into account when assessing others.

Google the definition of the word and then ask yourself, "self, am I qualified to diagnose all these people as sociopaths over the internet? Is this not the same discrimination that I accuse THEM of exhibiting toward me or other groups of people?" Also ask yourself, "what is the OPPOSITE of a sociopath? Is that what I am?" The opposite of a sociopath is an empath. In an earlier post, you stated that you wondered how a sociopath could sleep through the night. I pose the same question to you, how does an empath sleep through the night? And how does an empath ever get anything done?

My problem is, almost anytime someone brings up being proud of being white or american or from France, they are doing it in an attempt to one up some one. If you are any student of history, then you can't JUST be proud of the good things the US has done. We have the Trail of Tears, where soldiers were ordered to bash women and children's skulls with their rifle butts instead of wasting a bullet on them if they fell and could not continue. Japanese interment camps, the My Lai massacre, the shooting of US students at Kent State Slavery, Jim Crow, and a myriad of other things that, if you are being logical should also make you ashamed of being American or white. People have done enough bad things in the name of preserving the US or any particular race that when you are don, it means nothing.
