Gun owners biggest fear realized, the kid wearing the hoodie at the door

You're claiming he's in jail, then?

Read comprehension is a fragile thing.

{“After consulting with the Clay County prosecutor’s office, the homeowner was released pending further investigation due to the need to obtain a formal statement from the victim and compile additional information for a case file to be presented,” the chief said.}

Yes that's what I said... he was released from custody.

Conservatives portray themselves as rugged, self-sufficient tough guys, but are apparently scared shitless of black kids in hoodies.
If these hayseed cracker goobers lived in blue state college towns, they'd all be in maximum security prisons where they belong.

And the black kids in hoodies would continue working on their degrees without fear of being shot.

Where does anything speak of a "hoodie?"

Taken into custody, questioned, and then released. If a Black teenager had gunned down an 80 year old white man for knocking on his front door, do you think he would be released?

If a black teen had "gunned down" a white person of any age, it's doubtful police would have even investigated.

Or, this is like all the other times, that police decided to ignore a murder.

Who exactly was murdered?

I'm thinking you're just looking for an excuse to loot and burn the local Target store...

I think this one needs a lot more factual details before we can draw any conclusions about what happened...

Such as:

He went to the wrong house. Where is the 'right' house he was going to in relation to this one? Had he been to the house he was supposed to be going to before?

Did he "ring the doorbell" or did he do something else?

What made the homeowner think he needed to bring a firearm to answer the door?

There are lots of questions here.

He was detained for an interview. He was booked.

You mean "brought in for questioning" per state law.

He was not charged with any crime, and was released.

He was not charged so they had to release him.

When one is arrested, isn't a charge mandatory? I don't think "I don't like your skin color, so you're under arrest" works.

In fact, you know full well he was never arrested, merely questioned.

I'm sure Walt and those like Walt are out looting and burning as we speak, so the DA may be pressured by the terrorists to bring charges, but at this time, there are none.

Now if it was Florida or Texas, the guy would probably be innocent under the Stand your Ground law, don’t know about Missouri, but wouldn’t be surprised being another Red gun happy State
Sounds like an old man that feared becoming a victim. I'm glad the kid survived. The old man needs to be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and have his guns removed from him. He need to have a mental competency test also.

No it is not mandatory. They can hold someone up to 48 hours.
