Gulf Stream itself in danger of disruption - open discussion

That was the purpose of the post. To highlight that alarmists don't know shit except what they're told to think

It's evident to all and sundry that the Denier Choir does just precisely that.

Daily, the effects of climate change impact ever more severely . The time will come when you will accept it. You're looking pretty silly already- imagine what it's going to be like later.

Yet another thread that is trying to hide in the kiddie pool. Bringing it out for open discussion.
OP by Moon:

Atlantic Ocean circulation at weakest in a millennium, say scientists
Decline in system underpinning Gulf Stream could lead to more extreme weather in Europe and higher sea levels on US east coast

The Atlantic Ocean circulation that underpins the Gulf Stream, the weather system that brings warm and mild weather to Europe, is at its weakest in more than a millennium, and climate breakdown is the probable cause, according to new data.

Further weakening of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) could result in more storms battering the UK, more intense winters and an increase in damaging heatwaves and droughts across Europe.

Scientists predict that the AMOC will weaken further if global heating continues, and could reduce by about 34% to 45% by the end of this century, which could bring us close to a “tipping point” at which the system could become irrevocably unstable. A weakened Gulf Stream would also raise sea levels on the Atlantic coast of the US, with potentially disastrous consequences.

You'd better worry.
When they say ' by the end of the century ' they mean that our century may be ending prematurely.

Moon can't handle actual discussion.

Like most liberals, he needs to drag his fascist safe spaces with him everywhere he goes.

Thanks for posting this travesty of junk science so it can be freely discussed & dismissed as the fearmongering garbage it is.

The gospel according to James Hansen
>The oceans will begin to boil!

You don't know what it is. That's why you're on my thread-ban list- along with other Deniers who have nothing to add .

Whoopsie!

Left out the rest of my post, which is ironic.

Keep on safe-spacing, Moonban.

That's just not true, where do you get your info from?

that map isn't accurate, the gulf stream once it passes labrador ca, becomes the north atlantic drift. it is not the "Gulf stream"

"The Gulf Stream proper is a western-intensified current, driven largely by wind stress. The North Atlantic Drift, in contrast, is largely driven by thermohaline circulation."

.
The NAD is fed directly from the Gulf Stream.

North Atlantic Current, also called North Atlantic Drift, part of a clockwise-setting ocean-current system in the North Atlantic Ocean, extending from southeast of the Grand Bank, off Newfoundland, Canada, to the Norwegian Sea, off northwestern Europe. It constitutes the northeastward extension of the Gulf Stream; the latter issues from the Gulf of Mexico and gradually emerges as the North Atlantic Current in mid-ocean. It is composed of several broad currents with speeds of about 0.2 knots, as compared with the Gulf Stream’s rather concentrated flow at 1 to 6 knots.

so it is correct to say the gulf stream a wind driven current is not the termo current the NAD that heads to europe.

Just say this:

"I was wrong - sorry."

You'll feel better. :)
