GOP senators, led by Cruz, to object to Electoral College certification

Are you saying a couple of people are the same as this? Are you really? This is a threat to the entire election process to please a wannabe dictator. Trump had a fair election according to many in his admin. The Trumpies are a threat to the American project. Something like this has never happened before.
You rightys should be ashamed, but your programming is too good. You may be daft enough to think Trump actually was cheated. He lost Repub states run by Repubs. But that does not matter when compared to your right-wing beliefs.
Show the proof. It is how you win.

It's different when DEMOCRATS do it.

As you have been shown numerous times before, here and on other threads you attempted to run with the "whataboutism," it was, in all those cases the Democrat candidate had conceded the race long before January, and, the numbers involved were minuscular compared today's charade, but why little a few facts getting in your way

How does that excuse your hypocrisy, Anchovies?

And the Dems will lose the house with the thin margin they now have due to their incompetency, complacency and corporate bribery corruption.

I doubt that.

its the people who will suffer when the next Fascist prick like Trump rises.

"Fascist" is a meaningless term due to overuse and misapplication.

So now you're proactively objecting to the outcome of future elections.

I'm not the one selectively claiming that objections to election certification are a danger to democracy, Anchovies.

Of course not, you are attempting to justify the current Trump lemmings endangering democracy with their objections to election certification via an irrelevant "whataboutism"

Am I?

It appears that I'm reminding you that some of the same people who contested election results in the past are are now calling that process "dangerous".

11 GOP Trump dead-enders in the senate, what a shocker

it's cool they soak themselves in the stench of Trump, tagged with a rancid scarlet letter on their pinheads forever, amen

America won't forget ya chumps, go for it

Finally, we get it out in the open and on public record.

I always knew Republican's supposed "reverence" for the Electoral College when they won the EC in 2000 and 2016 (while losing the popular vote) was utterly phony and self-serving.

I have spent the entire 21st century stating that the GOP is chock full of anti-democracy fascists, and here they are openly proving I was always correct.

Sorry, dude, but that's not quite the way it is. It's good to stick with what works. The EC appears to be saving Americans from more Trump years. :)

There is no "GOP", no Grand Ol' Party anymore. It died of a thousand cuts for about 25 years then the Party of Trump killed off most of the rest.

Ted Cruz is an ass. A suck up who is happily sucking Trump's dick for all to see, the same mushroom dick belonging to the man who publicly insulted Mrs. Cruz. It's fucking embarrassing.

In regards to commie Cruz and his clump of enemy combatant and Russian republicans waging war on Democracy and their fake so-called lame duck president tRump consider the following that directly points to all of them:

The Constitution has an answer for seditious members of Congress

Let's review two pieces of news from the last week. First, the American coronavirus pandemic is entering its worst stage yet, with cases and deaths skyrocketing across the country. Last Thursday saw over 3,000 deaths — more than 9/11 or Pearl Harbor — and with ICU beds at or near capacity in most of the country, absent serious change it is possible there will be double or even triple that number per day in a matter of weeks. We may yet top the deadliest day in American history, the Galveston hurricane of 1900 that killed an estimated 8,000 people, very soon. President Trump is doing precisely nothing about this.

Second, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is under investigation for bribery and abuse of office, filed a baldly seditious lawsuit calling for the Supreme Court to overturn the election results in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, and hand their electoral votes to Trump. It was flatly an attempt to overturn the 2020 election, end constitutional government, and install Trump in power. Before the Supreme Court threw the suit out Friday night, 17 other Republican state attorneys general had joined him, along with 126 members of the Republican caucus in the House, while Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has agreed to represent Trump. And this is just one of dozens of attempts that Republicans at all levels of government have concocted to overturn Trump's loss.

In short, material conditions in this country have not been this bad since 1932 at least, and the political situation has not been this bad since 1860. The logical endgame of the rapidly-accelerating Republican attempt to destroy democracy while the country burns would be civil war — if it weren't for the high probability that Democratic leaders would be too cowardly to fight."

Wed is not the certification of the electoral votes. That has been done. This will be the counting of those votes.

bs Also as a result of your republican party selling out to Russians, waging war against the fair and lawful 2020 electoral process, in the gutter scheming on engaging in other acts of sedition and destroying their oaths who all should be subjected to sanctions under the 14th Amendment, consider the following as the Democratic party has a higher approval rating than Putin's republican enemy combatant gutter mob:

Trump is destroying his own party on the way out the door

Trump has wreaked havoc on Congress, our democracy and our judicial system by pardoning political associates and convicted murderers. But Trump has saved a special kind of Grinch-like behavior for the two Republican Senate candidates in Georgia who are headed for runoff elections in January and for Senator Mitch McConnell, whose fate as majority leader depends on the GOP winning at least one of those races.

These three are only the latest to realize that the return on investment for loyalty to Donald Trump is exactly zero. McConnell, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler all stood on the Senate floor in February and acquitted Trump on charges he abused his power in office and obstructed Congress. But now that it's time for Trump to return the favor, our self-absorbed President seems to be doing everything he can to make it harder for all three -- and perhaps giving the Democrats the gift of control of the Senate as he leaves office.
Trump's political messages started hurting the Republican senators in Georgia long before this Christmas season. Trump railed against early voting throughout the campaign to sow doubt about the election results and set the predicate for the outrageous claims of voter fraud and attempts to nullify the November election.
Early voting, traditionally a strong suit for Republicans, provided Biden with the margins he needed around the country. In Georgia, Perdue fell just short of the 50% threshold to avoid a runoff in his re-election bid. In the other Georgia Senate contest, Loeffler came in second to Democrat Raphael Warnock in a race where no candidate hit the threshold. The combination of massive early voting by Democrats and lower numbers on the GOP side made the January 5 runoffs possible."

I could abide by one or two nutjobs in the GOP.

But after losing 60 court cases, multiple state hand recounts, and DOJ weighing in through AG Barr that there is no evidence of massive fraud, this goes beyond a case of simple Trump ass kissing.

The fact that 140 GOP representatives and a couple dozen senators are openly fantasizing about invalidating a state-certified electoral college vote and thwarting the will of the voter is more than just Trump dick sucking.

It proves exactly what I have said on this forum since 2006: the Republican Party is chock full of anti-democracy fascists.

Vladimir Putin would be absolutely correct to roar with laughter in the face of any American Republican who attempts to lecture him about the benefits of democracy and of free and fair elections.
