WRONG. The UAE is an oligarchy. Argentina is a dictatorship. China is an oligarchy. North Korea is a dictatorship.

The UK is not a republic and does not have a codified constitution. It hasn't fallen into an oligarchy or a dictatorship yet.
The UK is an oligarchy, just like Canada.
All those countries have codified constitutions. I posted links to the first three earlier in this thread.

Indeed defining words is one them .. and new words get created all the time. Dictionaries are filled with these newly-created words.
Language is dynamic, not static.

Tsarist Russia had no constitution. During the brief time Russia had a constitution, they were a republic. Stalin destroyed that constitution and turned the nation into a dictatorship. Russia has since never had a constitution. Today, Russia is an oligarchy.

The purpose of a dictionary is to standardize spelling and pronunciation. No dictionary owns any word. No dictionary is the authoritative reference for any word.
The definitions of words come from many sources. Some are defined by philosophy. Some are defined by a logic. Some are defined by science. Some are defined by mathematics. Some are defined by religion. Some defined by engineers. Some are defined in other languages and imported into English. Some are just defined by common use among people. No dictionary defines any word.

A republic is not a synonym of a democracy. They are two completely different forms of governmental structure.
