Does it not seem correct that there are some decisions that would be best made at the global level and there are some that would be best made at the local level?
Federalism on a golbal scale....???
No. It seems wrong and moronic.
How so?

Can you give us some examples of what you are thinking?
Ahahahaha, good episode!omg. this is like asking Peter Griffin about "the Bird".
For example, it would seem to me that if an astroid were going to hit the Earth, a consortium made up of a "global government" would be best equiped to deal with the situation.
Issues relating to trash collection in my neighborhood might best be delt with by the local government.
When it comes to local government i see the "not in my backyard" phenomenon coming into play, like cape cod Windmills, and nuclear waste disposal.

Not really. The US and Russia can sufficiently continue to advance their space programs enough so that they can successfully collaborate on the technical matters, and interact with the UN to address such issues.
But if we are saving the world, dont you want everyone to pay a fair share?
And who is going to be the arbitrator of that?
The global representatives.
Ok, and through what medium are they selected and how would it be any different than the U.N.?
"Fair share"? Does this mean that we'd be responsible to buy stuff for third-world nations? But if we are saving the world, dont you want everyone to pay a fair share?

I'd prefer to have people in the US decide how money made in the US will be spent, rather than some third party that doesn't have my best interest at heart even when deciding how to defend against meteors.
