Trump has a right to use the 5th.And he should if he wants to stay out of jail, In criminal case, the judge will tell the jury to not hold it against him. In a civil case, that is not the true. That means if Stormy gets a trial, trump will be in trouble.
But the real point is, Trump said loudly and repeatedly that a person taking the 5th was , in fact, admitting guilt. That is why it is different for him. If he is judged by his standards, that would be a confession., He cannot take the 5th. But he will. The Trumpettes will find a way to forget what he said to justify it.

I will tell you all, if you are ever arrested, you should absolutely exercise your 5th Amendment right to remain silent. Cops, working with their government attorney's, have proven to be willing to do anything at all, including misconstruing sarcasm as a "confession", to gain a prosecution.

Once exercised in a civil case it operates the same way as if it were a criminal case. A lawyer shall not claim that pleading the fifth in a civil or criminal case is an admission of guilt.
That is the law.
