Democrats have no trouble electing or reelecting candidates that have failed in rhetoric or life, when they believe, they are electing the right man for the job- We too should have no trouble facing our obvious hypocrisy over one issue- moral uprightness, contrasted with economic soundness, in order to save our nations economic soundness.

Obama will lose to either Gingrich or Romney- You made your prediction, I make mine :)

i don't think bush or obama are that responsible. the graph shows zappa is wrong to claim that the unemployment rate did not go up after obama took office (get worse were his words). i've always maintained that presidents get far too much blame for the economy.

I believe letting unemployment climb from 7.3% to 10.1 % and letting it sit there for over two years is worse for everyone in the 2.8% who were unemployed.....

8.6% is worse than 7.3.....so was 10.1....and 9.7......here in Michigan it was over 14.......that was worse...in Detroit it hit 25%......that was worse.....what is Obama going to do to fix it if we re-elect him.....and wtf didn't he do it already?.......

The improved part is that a) he inherited a mess that it took dubdub 8 years of profligacy to create, b) he assumed the presidency when the entire world economy was tanking (and despite your immature chauvinism, the US IS part of the world). Your jobless rate rose to 10% - big deal - but it is now reducing. Why? Yes because, in part at least, Obama's policies.
The improved part is that and the fact that the US economic prospects are better now than they have been for twelve years.
Now dont run away and cherry pick stats, that's not clever. If you ignore the fact that Obama was handed the worst economy in modern times, and if you ignore the fact that the economy was hemorrhaging 700,000 jobs a month when Obama took office ... well, then the comment makes total sense.
