Georgia County Orders Elderly Black Voters Off Bus Taking Them To The Polls

That didn't address anything. If adults want to vote they can...at least in Michigan they can. Georgia? maybe not so much.
They can. and I'm sure they will...that just wasn't the way to transport. Michigan has similar rules?
it's a shame they are so many freaking silly rules these days...but, there are...

You have evidence none suffered some form of dementia ? Dems routinely round those folks up give them some pudding and tell them to hit the D.

I don't need to provide the evidence. Someone making the claim that these people were not in their right mind and not allowed to vote needs to provide the evidence.

I'm getting overloaded with quotes so here it is for all of you: Adults can do whatever the fuck they want as long they're not breaking the law and no one broke the law here. Someone provided a link to debunk the story and the main argument seemed to be that the election is "contentious". OK, whatever, so fucking what? Aren't they all?

:lolup:Idiot didn't read the article obviously. Hey dumbfuck, they did get to vote. Did you catch that part? Moron.

well just look at our resident elderly black person blackascoal.

Do we really want him voting
ask yourself

Excellent point. But the DNC needs low IQ dependent wards of the State to stay in power. ;) After all, the Democratic Party of the Jackass believes that most of their constituents are too stupid to make it without Government assistance.

Once again, 7 quotes on this within 3 minutes. One more time, If a law wasn't broken then it's no ones business.

By the way, you people forced me to agree with Evince and I will never fucking forget that. There will be retribution bwa ha ha ha ha.

Maybe you aren't aware that as they age, many people become vulnerable to various forms of fraud due to age-related diminishment of their mental acuity.

Here's the evidence:

Here's an example from Texas:

This has what to do with the folks from Georgia? If they aren't in their right mind then how come every story I've read about this, including yours, says they'll be able to vote later?

Many seniors have diminished capacity (mental and physical) and there are legal and medical reasons why you aren't allowed to whisk them away from assisted living facilities without authorization or proper equipment.

Has nothing to do with assisted living..

Senior centers all over Georgia provide transportation to get seniors to the polls.

Jefferson Transit transports Senior Citizens to the center for little or no cost. Having a weekend gathering, party, or social event-then the Jefferson County Leisure Center is the place for you. Call the County Commissioner Office for more information 478-625-3332.

:palm:

It explains why there are special protections in place for the elderly, who are often vulnerable to all kinds of fraud - including election fraud.

BTW, the seniors in question were able to vote. "Black Votes Matter" failed to mention that, I suppose.

Indeed, faux "Saudi princess", the leisure center in question provided it's own transportation - which is done for legal reasons. "Black Votes Matter" tried to make this about "racist voter suppression"; it was nothing of the sort.

You can't just turn up and start herding the elderly onto a bus.

Did they vote?

:palm:

To the seniors it wasn't voter suppression or anything else.

"They didn't say nothing about vote for steak or hamburger," said Nola Cunningham, a Leisure Center Member. "Some of us were on there just for the ride."

"It didn't feel like a political event to you?" NewsChannel 6 asked.

"No it didn't. It just was fun," Cunningham replied.

"And have you voted?" We asked.

"Yes," she replied.

The director said the center typically issues signed waivers before taking trips. All in all about 10 seniors voted since Monday. And the center provided that transportation.

They don't serve people in Assisted Living.....

.“We knew it was an intimidation tactic,” Black Voters Matter co-founder LaTosha Brown said.

.Dozens of black senior citizens in rural Georgia were ordered off a bus bound for the polls after county officials said the event constituted prohibited “political activity.”

A Jefferson County clerk reportedly told staff members from the Leisure Center in Louisville on Monday ― the first day of in-person early voting in Georgia ― that roughly 40 black people couldn’t take part in the trip after receiving a complaint from an unnamed caller.

The trip had been organized by the nonpartisan Black Voters Matter, which is embarking on a bus tour across several southern states with the goal of urging black people to vote. The caller said the bus, which was painted with the words “The South is Rising Tour,” should not be allowed to bring people to the polls, reported The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Jefferson County Administrator Adam Brett said the trip, set to depart from a county-run senior center, was political and therefore violated guidelines imposed on county-sponsored events, the AJC reported. Although Black Voters Matter is a nonpartisan organization, Jefferson County Democratic Party Chairwoman Diane Evans helped organize the event.

Officials “felt uncomfortable with allowing senior center patrons to leave the facility in a bus with an unknown third party,” Brett told the AJC. “No seniors at the Jefferson County senior center were denied their right to vote.”

Republicans cannot win without cheating because their base is shrinking.

Think about this .. today, republicans have to cheat to win in GEORGIA.

Republicans don't want black people voting, and want to make it as much of a hassle for them to vote as possible.

This isn't even surprising anymore.
And Republicans themselves have even stopped denying what was clear to the rest of us for years: Republicans do not believe in democracy, they do not believe in free and fair elections, they want to cling to power will losing popular votes, and they will do everything in their power to subvert democracy and thwart the will of the people.

I believe voting should be hassle free, should be encouraged, should be a civic expectation, and let the best ideas and candidates win.

The modern Republican Party is an authoritarian, proto-fascist party that has more in common with the Kremlin that it does with traditional American commitment to democracy and values.

:palm:

Because the bus that 'Black Votes Matter" sent wasn't properly authorized to transport the center's seniors.

Did you even read the thread?

Yes I read the thread and my problem is with the "authorized" part. They're adults, they can do whatever they want. It's not up to anyone to stop them because they don't like the bus they're on.

:palm: The county (they operate the center) would be legally liable for anything that happened on an organized "field trip" originating from the premises. Therefore they have a procedure in place to protect the seniors and mitigate the risk. "Black Votes Matter" did not follow the procedure.

Tell you what: Tool up to any senior center near your location. Strut through the door and announce that everyone can get in your car for a free ride.

Let the forum know what happens.
