It must have been gods will, the lord works in mysterious ways. After months of thoughts and prayers this was obviously gods decision.

George Washington's Church Says Plaque Honoring First President Must Come Down

Leaders at the church that George Washington attended decided that a plaque honoring the first president of the United States must be removed.

Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia will take down a memorial marking the pew where Washington sat with his family, saying it is not acceptable to all worshipers.

“The plaques in our sanctuary make some in our presence feel unsafe or unwelcome," leaders said, a reference to the fact that Washington was a slaveholder.

"Some visitors and guests who worship with us choose not to return because they receive an unintended message from the prominent presence of the plaques.”

Are you suggesting that church does not have a right to do what he chooses?

As I've been saying for years and years, the Democrat party has a vile hatred for the founding fathers. This is just more proof of their utter hatred for the FF's.

Why do you hate Christians so much?

I am not sure that it does dealing when with history. I was at Winchester cathedral recently and saw Jane Austin's grave. Would they have a perfect right to just move it elsewhere?

Well, messing with someone's remains (while probably still within Winchester's rights) would be different from messing with their commemorations. I'm guessing there is some form of tribute to her somewhere on the grounds, there? OTOH, how better to celebrate Jane Austin then to have some aristocratic men make decisions about her place in society?

i'm sure the church has a right to move displays -the question is why peeps find George Washington offensive enough that they are triggered.
Also what about the peeps who aren't? ( the sane ones) do they have any say?

Are you comparing a grave with a plaque?

it seems some thought is was the democratic party and not a church

weird huh

its a church you fucking insane idiot

its not the democratic party

I think it's bizarre to have these kinds of plaques on or near a church altar, for gawd's sake.

"The plaques, as reported by the Washington Times, are made of stone and emblazoned with the words “In memory of George Washington” and “In memory of Robert E. Lee” in gold letters. They are placed on both sides of the altar."
