George Washington & Thomas Jefferson's Quotes about Guns/Arms

The 2nd amendment was written because we had a citizen army protecting a very weak and vulnerable new country. They had to be armed because the Brits attacked weapon depots in earlier battles. Other countries were eyeing America as a valuable addition. Groups like the Green Mountain Boys joined in the Revolution and helped achieve victory.
The 2nd has been around too long, way past its expiration date. We do not and cannot fight our own aemies. That is such a stupid thing to believe.

The 2nd amendment has no expiration date. The right of self defense is inherent, Sock. Outside enemies don't attack the United States anymore because they know citizens are armed. There are more guns than people held in private hands.

I suppose I should give up and admit that Americans are entitled to the flintlocks and muskets of 233 years ago.

...and the cannons, and the modern machine gun, and the nuclear bomb, and anything else anyone wants to arm themselves with.

The 2nd amendment does not list any gun by type, style of action, how scary it looks, how big it's magazine is, etc.

Not quite, Sock.

Although Jefferson was in France at the time the Constitution itself was drafted, many of Jefferson's ideas were incorporated into it, including the Bill of Rights.
Madison wrote the bulk of the Constitution. Jefferson wrote the bulk of the Declaration of Independence.

Which ideas of Jefferson were incorporated?

Well, here's Washington's quote which is the same as the one from my OP.

Oh.. look you found someone else that used a fake Washington quote.

George Washington was not alive this century. And George Washington doesn't sign his letters Luke Vieira.
Oh, here is the quote from Jefferson that is the exact same as the one I posted in the OP.

Feel free to pass these links on to the other ignorant lefties that posted in this thread.
Your link proves that there is no evidence Jefferson ever said what you posted. Maybe you should read your links before you post them.
Status: This quotation has not been found in any of the writings of Thomas Jefferson.

Let me ask you again. Why do you hate the founders so much that you will lie about what they said?

Bulverism fallacy. It does not matter if Washington said it or not. The argument remains the same.

The right to self defense is inherent. It does not come from a piece of paper. Both federal and State governments are prohibited from interfering with this right. Yes...that includes the right of self defense against a rogue government.

Fallacy fallacy.

The fallacy fallacy occurs when Into the Night claims a fallacy exists but doesn't explain why it is a fallacy. Into the Night does this to try to appear smarter than he actually is. Readers will note that Into the Night goes on to claim making false statements is just fine as long as he agrees with the sentiment.

The argument can not remain the same since the argument was the Washington and Jefferson said the things that they didn't say.

Let me give an example.

"I am the stupidest person alive. No one is stupider than I am." Into the Night

Does Into the Night care if he actually said that or not since the argument remains the same?

Redefinition fallacy. Denial of logic. Bulverism fallacy. The argument remains the same. It doesn't matter who said it or where it comes from.

You are right. The argument remains the same even if it is a false quote from you. But just to make it even more clear, you resort to the fallacy fallacy.

False quoting of a user here is a rule violation (rule 16).

What did Washington say about surface to air missiles? Should everyone own one?

Well, if that's what you want...

Southeby's has an SRBM 8K11 missile on auction:

Christie's auction house is offering an SA-6

A British Bloodhound missile if you want it

Not too hard to get one or more, if you want them. Money is the only thing needed!

a couple of bad quotes does not detract from the reality that the founding fathers and almost every court before the 1900s KNEW and believed in the right of an individual to keep and bear their own arms, not just muskets, for self defense from any person, persons, or governmental entity. many of the leftist arguments against gun ownership are wrought from nothing more than their feelings, no facts involved.

Many of the original; Americans hunted for food. They had a clear need for rifles.
However, you skip "well-trained militia: in every ignorant pro-gun post. You are so dishonest.
