Gay Man Arrested At Partner's Bedside

I completely agree that gay couples should be afforded the same rights granted to straight couples. The only question I have from that article is the part where they said the hospital didn't want anyone in the room. If the rest of the family was also being kept out, then Gorley was in the wrong regardless of being the partner. If other members of the family were in the room, then Gorley was right to do what he did.

I wondered what part of that sentence Howey Hemorrhoid didn't understand....

If you read the updates, they wanted the brother and Gorley to leave the room because they were in there arguing. So the question remains... why did Gorley get arrested and not the brother.

Maybe he was the source of the disturbance/argument ?... we don't know every detail....

He says the nurse refused to verify they also share joint Power of Attorney. “She didn’t even bother to go look it up to check into it,” Gorley said.

Sue the hospital

Another thing to sue the hospital over! They directed the police to remove the partner and not the sibling.

The problem is, straight couples have the option, but gay couples do not.

????.....that is simply not true.....both may enter into health care powers of attorney under the law......and I can tell you, getting a health care power of attorney is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier than getting married.....

If say...you were unmarried and your girlfriend got sick...and you wanted to visit her at the hospital...

How would you feel if you were arrested for caring about your partner?

THIS is why we need gay marriage.

please note the homophobic aspect of the following He says the nurse refused to verify they also share joint Power of Attorney. “She didn’t even bother to go look it up to check into it,” Gorley said. “He’s been at the psychiatric unit part several times.”

I told this part of the story to get to my point. Homosexuals work, pay taxes, and live normal everyday lives. If they are paying into the system like everyone else, they should have the same rights and benefits as everyone else.

Not everyone else gets the benefits of marriage. What justifies the special treatment for homosexuals?
