gas prices up 23 cents in 1 week -11 cents hike today alone

It might happen if he turns to nukes. Gas prices right now are jumping 20 cents/day for absolutely no reason. Sure...blame it on the Putin war. In the past, if someone farted in the Persian Gulf, prices went up.

American petro companies are refusing to pump oil. They are no different than OPEC. Of course, their masters demand it:

I read an interesting piece the other day re. sand. Because our oil companies refused to invest in new drilling last year in lieu of paying dividends, now that they want to jump on this hot market they cannot. There is (evidently) a shortage of sand!

We need the Feds. to start a national oil/gas drilling apparatus that will compete with the private sector. We gloated when the fracking industry was pumping like crazy and bragging about our energy independence.

Now they're just another member of OPEC. Landing there with the help of Wall St.
The cheaper authoritarian move is to nationalize the oil industry.

I fail to see how a democratic government in a free country can dictate to it's citizens how to invest their money.

Nationalizing the industry will never happen. Nor will my idea. For the same reason we can't get Medicare for all.

LOL re. a free country. I fail to see how a democratic government can allow 'investments' to affect policy positions by our elected officials.

Just what did this President do, or not do to lose our energy independence?
He stopped new drilling on Federal land and waters. He limited fracking on Federal leases. He stopped the XL pipeline and discussed closing another pipeline in the Northeast the Michigan 5 line. Those things also hurt investment in exploration for oil and gas. Even as President Biden cracks down on American production, he is actively encouraging our foreign competitors to boost their own oil output. Earlier this year, in response to rising gas prices, the President went hat in hand to OPEC+, a revamped cartel of oil-producing nations that now includes Russia and Venezuela. Mr. Biden was asking that they step up their own oil production to lower gas prices in the U.S.

The XL pipeline is open and producing, Einstein. Not a single one of the examples you gave would have done anything to expand oil production today. Not a one, sweetie. Again, you are ignorant

At the behest of far-left environmental activists, President Biden cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline, paused new oil and natural gas leases on federal lands, forced the United States back into the job-killing Paris Climate Agreement, proposed harmful environmental rules on oil and gas emissions, and hiked the "social cost of carbon"—a government metric first used by Barack Obama—to a sky-high $51 per ton.

My bill would immediately rescind job-killing regulations that undermine our energy independence. It would enact a preemptive strike and ban any new radical climate regulations that reduce our energy security. It would defund the Paris Climate Agreement, green-light the Keystone XL Pipeline and fast-track new ones like it, cut the "social cost of carbon" from $51 to zero, unleash American fracking, revoke pending environmental rules, and open up federal lands for energy exploration and drilling. All of these actions will create the certainty we need for new business investment. And they will make us what we should be: energy independent.

The XL pipeline was not cancelled, its been up and operating, my little genius.

Biden did a EO on his first day in office that halted the XL pipe line and stopped leasing on Federal lands. We would be driving today on oil drilled earlier this year on Federal leases had Biden not prevented new Federal oil leases. You need to stop drinking sweetie.

Wrong again, moose breath, the XL pipeline has always been up and operating. Secondly another example of how totally useless you are:

Feb 24, 2022 — Despite a campaign vow to stop drilling, Biden has approved more drilling permits on public lands per month than the Trump administration ...

Yes he approved leases in lower yield areas but killed leases in high yield areas like ANWR . Yes the US was FOURCED to lease new exploration in the Gulf Coast after a federal judge in Louisiana blocked the Biden administration’s executive order. The legal block came after attorneys general from 13 Republican states, led by Louisiana, challenged the moratorium. But that happen in June. It takes time to auction the leases find the oil drill time for the oil and build pipelines to transport the oil ad gas to shore. Plus the Biden administration's hostility towards fossil fuels has dampened investment .

You had better tell NPR about the XL pipeline because they are giving out misinformation
The developer has now canceled the controversial project. The company behind the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline said Wednesday it's officially terminating the project. TC Energy already had suspended construction in January when President Biden revoked a key cross-border presidential permit.

Yet that's what you are advocating by setting up a Federal oil system to compete with the private market.

The pipeline was never cancelled just an expansion

Agreed. The clueless Trumpians are famous for gaslighting and being ill-informed.

leasing on federal lands amount to about 6% of all oil production. Any leases that may have been cancelled would have zero effect on days oil supply.

You are just totally brain dead, honey pot:

The Keystone Pipeline System is an oil pipeline system in Canada and the United States, commissioned in 2010 and owned by TC Energy and as of 31 March 2020 the Government of Alberta.[8][9][10][11] It runs from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin in Alberta to refineries in Illinois and Texas, and also to oil tank farms and an oil pipeline distribution center in Cushing, Oklahoma.

This has nothing to do with additional phases of this pipeline that were cancelled,
