gas prices explode overnight - $4.19/gallon

It was a groanable post.

Who thinks Trump keeps it at $2.50 in these circumstances?

Only the cult.

You forget the 30% increase in gasoline and diesel, the shortages, and backup of ships waiting to get offloaded long BEFORE the war started. May I conclude you assholes will try and blame the prices on everything magically began when Russia invaded Ukraine? Dream on shit for brains, that one is way too easy to refute. The alt-leftie malcontents were better off with the China virus scam. At least then you could keep your lying lips covered.

Well, no more mean tweets, AND no more trying to destroy democracy.

People always leave that 2nd one out.

You mean like travel mandates and useless face diapers that if you refused to wear or declare your vaccine status, you were fired? That democracy?

And the "Vaxxes do almost nothing to slow the transmission of SARS-COV2, but if you dont take the jabs you are fired" democracy.

I don't groan all of your posts. Just the ones where I actually groan.

If he solves Ukraine, it helps a lot of things. Including gas prices.

How can someone w/ acumen not make that connection?

Gas prices were already high pre the Ukraine invasion so even if that were to come to a positive outcome gas prices aren't going to instantly drop again (short of people saying prices are too high and therefore we won't travel, that could lower demand which could help bring down prices).

But for the sake of discussion let me ask you this. You've spoken about the existential crisis of climate change and the urgent need to address it. Maybe I'm wrong here but I always thought higher gas prices were viewed as a positive from that perspective in the sense that it make people drive less and desire to purchase more fuel efficient vehicles etc. Many people tend to like lower gas prices of course but if climate change is an existential crisis sacrifices have to be made. Am I wrong on that? Or is that only part of it and I'm missing/leaving something else out?

Forcing Americans into medical experiments via coercion (job or jab) was a jump straight into fascism. Good luck erasing that from history like you try to do with all the other inconvenient "facts".

But, those mean tweets are gone! lol

US gas price average hits new record high

The average price for a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. hit a new record high of $4.104 on Monday, surpassing the previous record of $4.103 set in 2008 according to data from GasBuddy.

"Americans have never seen gasoline prices this high, nor have we seen the pace of increases so fast and furious," GasBuddy head of petroleum analysis Patrick De Haan said in a statement announcing the news.

gas prices are going up much higher, Russian oil embargo almost here

right now the cynical GOP senators are demanding Biden jump in there with an embargo, licking their chops waiting to bash him for high gas prices this fall

Democrats won't care, but I feel ya! We will start limiting where we go and have already started stocking up on staple items to weather the now upon us Biden recession! Most Liberals will jump for joy, because Putin's war has raised gas prices much quicker, then they would have been able to! Hope they can eat their electric car!
i've been severely limiting red meat, the occasional hamburger when I get a craving. now I think i'l going to do more egg whites, rice and beans
( complementary amino acids create protein of you eat them together) but in not a vegetarian-
humans are omnivores and greek yogurt cooking stuff like that

My Russian neighbor owns a trucking company.
He said he's got some loads leaving from CA where diesel is $6.50 a gallon

I filled up yesterday after work. it was $3.73.
that's 46 cents increase in 1 day

fuck the Russians, fuck Ukraine and Fuck Biden -this is serious hurt for working people

when Trump left it was around $2.50

Wow! Now it is going to cost me a whole 7 cents instead of 5 cents to drive up to the store, favorite restaurants, or doctors office!

I'm so glad and fortunate my automobile gets 42 miles to the gallon!

Damn! And I could of had a V8. LOL!

the jump isnt just from the war, and it predated the war.
Biden gets in. creates a hostile enrgy climate and bans AWWAR and leases on federal land

I mentioned Trump and your mind immediately goes full tilt TDS
You are gonna completely lose it come midterms when the Dems get a shellacking

Shortages everywhere predates the war, in fact, it predates Biden, called Covid, and the slow down in production, what we have today is demand push inflation. Did you think there was a huge demand for gas when Americans didn't go anywhere and that the oil companies were ready when the demand suddenly exploded. Called basic economics

I don't view it that way. I know some do.

I'd rather get off oil regardless. We can see how volatile the prices can be, and the effect that can have. What can we expect when there are actually shortages down the line?

We're not near ready for that. This situation should wake everyone up. It won't, but it should.

I don’t think it realistic that we’ll be getting off oil anytime soon but maybe someone will say otherwise. It reasons to me that higher gas prices would push more people towards renewables but I’m not an energy guy so I maybe I’m off.

I'd rather not see people squeezed economically. Price spikes like this really hurt middle & lower income groups (goes w/out saying).

Our infrastructure is so built around oil. Even if we had a 30 or 40 year plan to wean off of oil, we'd have to start changing things now.

I don't know when we start to run out of oil, but I'm not optimistic we'll be ready when that day comes.

I paid $3.89 today for gas, and I would pay even more if means hurting Russia financially and supporting Ukraine?!! If you have public transit, you may want to start using it, to save on fuel cost?!!
