Frustrated with police inaction, Border Patrol Unit killed the shooter unilaterally

cops have vests but body armor is not common. its expensive and not really necessary.

and tactical training is different for one cop as opposed to a team.

It is around here. They know their job is to charge into the gunfire, etc., just like firemen run into a building on fire.

The local cops were told to stand down because they thought they had a barricaded guy not a shooter. It was the local cop boss that made that call. They should have shot the guy through the windows. I don’t think all the local cops were cowards I just think they had a bad commander. Not surprising in a town of 16,000

Thanks for not letting politics play into things like this.

Most policemen do have tactical gear, body armor, assault weapons, piercing ammo in their trunk should they need it.

Not sure why this police force didn't have theirs readily available in their trunks!

But, someone should ask, and if they don't- get them equipped up for the next one!
In Dallas maybe but not in small towns with limited budgets. In facts they don’t have body armor or ARs in my rather affluent town in all cop cars.

Body armor is given out to police forces by the federal government. More affluent towns will often turn it down.

Uvade’s resource officer is shared between multiple campuses not surprising in a town of 16K he was at another campus that day

Texas has been cutting pay to law enforcement, and other armed enforcement officers. They are all for speaking out for police, but when it comes to actually spending the money... Republicans suddenly go very quiet.

That requires taxes to be spent.
So does this. Why not spend this money on law enforcement?

"The Biden administration relieved 563,000, or 1.3% of all borrowers of their student loan debt this year. The cancelled loans were less than 1% of the student debt owed in the US. Nearly 43 million people collectively owe $1.59 trillion in student debt, according to data from the office of Federal Student Aid. The Department of Education cancelled about $9.5 billion in student loans since early 2021. It has also paused all student loan repayment, interest, and collections through the end of January 2022."

Fuck those worthless assholes who won't pay their debts. They took out those loans, they should pay back every penny they borrowed. Many others have paid back their loans. Why should those who don't (or won't) have theirs paid for by us taxpayers? Fuck them, I already paid for 13 years of their education.

Billions of federal dollars were sent to Texas, and Texas decided to give it to the rich. They decided not to spend it on law enforcement.

Chicago Police got paid throughout the pandemic, can Texas police say the same?

They stood around because their management / supervisors couldn't make a decision to save their--well others in this case--life. It was a case of bureaucratic incompetence by management.

So? The bureaucratic argument didn't work for the Nazis.

You have proof of this accusation?

I don't know, again, show proof of this accusation of Texas police not being paid.
