1. Actually I'm trying to move the discussion forward. It appears that someone who represents American manufacturers, who are for the most part unionized, would be of the opinion that if government would take over the cost of health care then they wouldn't have to provide it themselves. It seems that they have a vested interest.

However a "flatter" tax, and more accurately the Fair Tax proposal, would be much more beneficial to American manufacturers because it would remove the hidden costs associated with payroll and corporate taxes.

Don't expect many politicians to endorse it though, since it also removes their ability to tinker with the tax code to benefit their favorite lobbyists and campaign donors.

I do not favor the "fair"/flat tax .. and frankly I don't favor much of any changes to the tax system except to end loopholes for companies who ship jobs overseas.

I DO NOT believe that Americans are overtaxed.

You're bringing up unrelated issues to how taxes are collected, and didn't provide any logic on why you oppose the Fair Tax. If you can't do any better than that, I'll have to assume that you're just a mouthpiece for the Democrat Party.

I was looking forward to a serious conversation on an issue you brought up, then you wimp out on me instead of stepping up and addressing the questions I've asked many times .. and I've already stated .. many posts ago .. where I believe these issues are in fact critical and crucial to the issue that YOU brought up.

This issue isn't really germaine to the topic of this thread, but I addressed it when you brought it up being respectful to you.

Flat taxation is more than just about how taxes are collected, it's also about the consequences of that action. I've already said .. many posts ago .. that it would certainly be more efficient, but there are consequences that must also be considered in any intelligent discussion of the issue.

Might I also suggest that you aspire to step up your game by getting rid of the "you must be a democrat" programmable nonsense. Morons use that bullshit .. don't be a moron.

I'm at least as critical of the Democrat Party AND democrats themselves as I am of republicans .. although frankly, they have more intelligent people .. not too many fighters unfortunately.

Its obvious that you are afraid to debate this issue (existing progressive taxation v FairTax), so you bring up unrelated subjects (Healthcare, Social Security, Education.) What are you afraid of, learning that the Democrat Party has you by short hairs?
