So, shut down the country from October > March every year in the future and have people die THAT way if you prefer.
There will still be people dying due to flu anyway, but you'll get the thousands more as a bonus from cancelled medical
procedures, depression, stress, drugs, abuse in the home they're locked up in, etc.
Don't presume to know what I support. I realize that it's a balance. I have always felt that shutting down had its time limits, and I understand fully the ill effects of letting the economy slide like this. I support reopening now.
I think sometimes both sides get caught up in thinking it's a no brainer - like, of course we have to shut down, or of course we CAN'T shut down. It's just not that simple. It's always been a balance of trying to preserve life & slow the spread, and not letting the economy go down so far that it might not make it back.
And I'm not sure how you can say Trump was "right." He's been all over the place on this, as usual. Supporting shutdowns one day, and then tweeting "Liberate Michigan!" the next day. He certainly keeps the country on its toes.
