Florida book bans - the first step before burning

Gonna be difficult for DeSantis to pivot to the center for the general after this dire move to appeal to extremists in the primary.

Exactly. Like FL after the hurricane devastated Fort Myer. Unlike #TRE45ON did with the California fires, though, Biden didn't try to play politics with sending assistance.
"They should be thanking me. I've been very good to them"
Or

"They didn't vote for me. Why am I helping them?"

Dumb fuck

Which is proof of their ignorance. This ignorance, and hypocrisy, is easily seen in the Florida hurricane recovery threads.

Such threads are a great litmus test to determine which JPP members are honest and knowledgeable vs. liars, and/or ignorant, stupid or nuts.
Yup. Or the tornado in Kentucky, when Rand Paul came begging after numerous lectures about how NY didn't deserve any Sandy relief.

Hypocrites are liars since they hid the truth about their beliefs. I used to like Rand Paul, but he's definitely gone over to the dark side.

Trump did it. Of course, he had the advantage of voters on both sides of the aisle who saw Hillary as the corrupt creature she was.

Guess someone forgot to tell him that when you're POTUS you are supposed to at least pretend to care about *all* the citizens, not just the deluded idiots who voted for you.

Agreed. Part of the reason he was elected in the first place was blowback from his predecessor.

I'm pretty sure his staff was begging him to feign compassion. Especially with respect to Covid.

He just isn't capable of even faking it. Remember the time we got to see his note cards for an early speech at some disaster? He had to be reminded to mouth the words 'I hear you'.

Wow, that happened in h.s. when I was a kid. PE was segregated then so the boys went to one side of the gym, the girls to the other, and there was a divider down the middle. The PE teacher (Mrs. Jones) showed us a film about puberty and body changes and menstrual periods and how a baby grows in the womb and some stuff about sperm and eggs and it takes both to make a person, but that was about it. No clue what the boys learned about but it was no doubt similar. That was in the late 60s and even then parents had to sign a permission slip for that education. There was a Q&A session afterwards, as I recall. But only a few questions, prob. because embarrassment and/or no one wanted to exhibit sexual ignorance in front of her peers.

We had "health" classes in our jr year 1967 that were boys in one class and girls in another, it was taught by gym teachers

they showed us films like this

Gods, for real?

He sees compassion as a sign of weakness. And so do many of his followers. We all know who the truly weak are, don't we?

Yep, same as us! That movie... lololol. But yep, that's similar to what they showed us, too. I just asked Mr. Owl, who grew up in rural Illinois, if they had the same thing and he said no. He said they were expected to learn about sex from the farm animals. :rofl2:

Yep. After his ass beating in the election, it was revealed that his staff had been begging him for months to come out and comment about all of the victims of the trump virus.

He couldn't bring himself to do it, and it cost him.

If you read the crib notes, it's pretty sad that he had to be reminded to ask basic questions

Meetings with FLORIDA VICTIMS. Voters. Who voted for someone who shits on them. Just imagine that.

Yea but...'he owns the Libs'.

Heh, yep. That's what they love about DeSatan too. He has the power, in his little fascist haven called FL, to pull all kinds of tricks that don't do much other than please the MAGATs and piss off normal people. That "Don't Say Gay" bill, the bill in the OP here. Punishing Disney via taxation for daring to criticism his bigotry. Going to TX to round up some asylum seekers and then flying them to Martha's Vineyard. Yelling at some school kids wearing masks at a photo-op. Punishing a state official who blew the whistle on how FL was cheating on COVID stats by sending armed officers to invade her home. Arresting some ex-cons for voter fraud then having them set free because there was no criminal intent, etc. etc. Non-FL MAGATs hope that he can do all this nastiness on a national level. Think he can get elected on that platform?

Another reason why Trump is worried that DeSantis will kick his ass in the primaries. My guess is that Trump will drop out once it's clear to him he'll be a LOSER if he runs against DeSantis.

The ironic part? Trump will declare that the Republican Party is corrupt and rigged the votes. :rofl2:

Guess we'll find out next year. Trump tends to be insulated from bad news, esp. if it is about him, by his handlers. Reportedly he flies into rages when presented with poor polling or news stories that show him in a bad light, so aides and others try to keep it out of his sight/hearing.
