It's called jurisdiction. Federal judges are not omnipotent. They cannot just decide to weigh in on something. They are limited to what cases they can hear.

Exactly. If ICE and CBP had evidence, and presented that to the immigration courts, then they did due diligence and the individual(s) was ordered deported. The administrative hearing satisfies the law, and no federal district judge is involved. Why should this process suddenly change because Trump is President? Why should a federal district judge get involved in something that isn't within his jurisdiction?
