Actually, it is rational. Car crashes are ACCIDENTS. Even drunk driving is normally a lapse in judgement (granted there are some that are just fucking retarded and think they can drive great drunk).
Whereas terrorism is a deliberate action... to kill, maim, destroy... done to strike fear into the opponent.
So it really isn't irrational for people to be more concerned with the latter rather than the former.
The shooter from MI over the weekend acted deliberately.
Do you think about random shooters all the time? Would it be rational to have random domestic shooters be the #1 issue in this year's campaign?
