Again, I think independently. I agree w/ the left on some issues, and w/ the right on some issues.

You're the worst kind of partisan in that you are not open to new ideas, at all. You think monolithically along party lines, and reject anything outside of that as a "lie" or "failed policy." I know you think Democrats are 100% right about everything all the time, but they're not. A $19 trillion debt, poor educational system America's inner cities and corporate-friendly healthcare law stand in contrast to your claims, among other issues.

Name some ideas he backs that you think are Republican. Can you back your claim with facts?
 
Blind partisanship is a worse enemy to our nation than terrorism, the debt or anything else I can think of.

It's sad how far we've come from the days where Tip O'Neil & Reagan could actually have a civil conversation and achieve compromise that really benefited the country. Everyone is just in constant election-mode now, and rejects the other party's ideas outright.

What are the chances that one party has a monopoly on every good or great idea? What are the chances that one party is 100% right on everything?

Zero. The idea is to take the best that each party has to offer and make it work. There are smart approaches to issues on both sides.

While you are quite rational about some things you are very confused about others, S.S. being a perfect example.

I'll remember that when we have to cut benefits by 25% in 2037.

Like I said - privatizing is a progressive idea. It's not sustainable as a public program. I care about seniors. You seem to care more about party.

And many trillions of debt was accrued by Dems. We spend too much as a country - quite clearly.

I think desh gets crazier each day. I dread to see her the days leading up to the election in November. Anyone who has been on this site and paid any attention knows Lorax isn't a republican and therefore is likely to side with desh more than not. Shoot, I probably side with her more than she thinks. But with her it is all or nothing I suppose. Gotta be in lock step.

Desh, can you please list some ideas that Lorax supports that you consider to be "stupid"? And how, exactly, does he stand with the Republican Party?
