The moment they told her to get out of the car SHE WAS LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO COMPLY. Running away was illegal. Obstructing an ICE operation is a FELONY. She was fleeing the process of being arrested for obstruction of justice.

So, I heard a theory - if you have a chance listen to a Heather Cox Richardson podcast. She tells it like it is giving historical context. Her theory of why the ICE thug murdered her is that when she said, "I'm not mad at you dude" - the thug considered that HER attempting to deescelate the situation thereby "becoming the alpha" for a moment. The low-minded thug didn't want to give up his authority and saw her attempt to deescalate insulting and murdered her because she humiliated him!
