Family value USA vs france

France is a much more well off nation than we are. Everyone is given a much more equal chance at being successful, being born into the luck sperm club is not as much of an advantage. What happens as a result is that those citizens who are likely to be of greatest benefit but are born to a poor family have a greater chance of getting to a place where they can contribute.

Many have pointed out that if Einstein were born and raised in the US instead of Germany, he would not likely have gotten the education that allowed him to make the contributions he was able to make.

France is an incredibly class ridden society, you should actually go there and see for yourself.

I hear the french are using Velcro to affix the blue and red stripes on their flag so they can be removed quickly in the event that surrender becomes necessary.

Yup, many on this board in as much admitted it. Many of them do not believe the government should be involved in educating children. Strangely the do believe that the government should be leading prayer in those schools that should not exist.

i never said that the repugs are rational, especially about education and religion

It's actually only the Parisians I don't like. The French in Normandy were incredibly nice to Americans as were the French in Eastern France, but I think that is because they were all once German.

I've been, three times. I found the French people warm and inviting. More in the South than in Paris, but friendly all around. Sure you have class snobs, but everyone has a more equal chance at an education than we do here.

I also got laid my first night ever in Paris, likely a fluke, but it did reinforce the positive stereotype I have regarding French women.

I went to law school with a woman born in Quebec, went to Sorbonne for a year, after she graduated married an American and got her US citizenship. However, when she went back to Paris she was checking into a hotel and when the clerk found out she was American, told her that Americans should refrain from trying to speak French because they don't learn it well enough.

The people in France seemed to appreciate my bumbling attempts at speaking French.

One morning, I was leaving at 5am to go to the airport, I was fumbling with my luggage to get it to the Metro station. Three cops ran over to me and insisted on carrying my luggage all the way to the train for me.

Could you imagine a NYC cop doing that for some French tourist?

The first time I went to Paris back in 1974, there was a tramp in the Quartier Pigalle who used to have a fake rat on a string. He would wait until a swanky couple would go by, walk up behind them and let the rat drop down. He attracted quite a crowd of people waiting for him to get his next victim.
Oh that would be awesome. My wife would jump over the Arche de Triumph if he did that to her! LOL

Viva Le France.

I have to admit......every foreign country I've visited (except Arkansas) I got laid the first night I was there. Must be our accents? (The one in Japan was a real freak too!).

My brother used to tell me that the best part of taking a holiday in NYC, London or Paris is that you could be a complete asshole to everyone and get away with it. :)
