During a closed-door Cabinet meeting in March, Duffy reportedly accused Elon Musk’s team at the Department of Government Efficiency of trying to fire air traffic controllers at the FAA, according to The New York Times. The Federal Aviation Administration fired fewer than 400 employees out of its workforce of 45,000, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on Monday, as questions rise around air traffic safety amid a spate of recent plane accidents.
Duffy posted the number of layoffs in a social media post message on X, formerly known as Twitter, responding to a post by his Democratic predecessor Pete Buttigieg, who has been critical of the Trump administration’s Department of Transportation.
“Less than 400 were let go, and they were all probationary, meaning they had been hired less than a year ago. Zero air traffic controllers and critical safety personnel were let go,” Duffy wrote on Monday.
Indeed, these far left loons are like children.Pesky details....
If the 400 number is true…. That is a lot of people who could have been helping in Newark today! The Federal Aviation Administration fired fewer than 400 employees out of its workforce of 45,000, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on Monday, as questions rise around air traffic safety amid a spate of recent plane accidents.

No, I didn’t try to “trade” him, I tried to train him but he was fired and arrested. Were you successful at trading this person?

Personnel is a big issue, but a bigger one is the antiquated computer systems controllers have to use. Modernizing their computer systems would automate many functions requiring less personnel....but that would be against NATCA agreements. Factor in Republican budget cuts and it's a national nightmare. If the 400 number is true…. That is a lot of people who could have been helping in Newark today!
They were probationary and would never be on an arrival or departure board. If the 400 number is true…. That is a lot of people who could have been helping in Newark today!
If true, NATCA agreements need to be amended. Or more people hired.Personnel is a big issue, but a bigger one is the antiquated computer systems controllers have to use. Maybe not, but they would be supporting those who were, making it less likely they walk out! They were probationary and would never be on an arrival or departure board.
Here are are…. We reached angry insult stage!I do not know why I try to educate the receptionist.
He has the least knowledge of current events…or any other events, of any far left poster on this forum and he is barely literate.
The NATCA contract would have to be re-negotiated and it would take 3-5 years to get a controller qualified to work at a Level 5 airport. If true, NATCA agreements need to be amended. Or more people hired.
Trump fired 400 people at the FAA, now look at Newark Airport, a “national embarrassment.”
I edited my post adding about modernizing computers. That would eliminate many jobs thus requiring less personnel. If true, NATCA agreements need to be amended. Or more people hired.
Again, your ignorance precedes you.Maybe not, but they would be supporting those who were, making it less likely they walk out!
Who was president between Obama and Biden?Concentrate…it takes time to modernize Nav-Aids, Radar, and ground to air communications.
The time to have done this was long ago when Obama and the vegetable were in office.
President Trump has been in office less than four months.
Those of us who were actually on the ground saw this…the Area Managers, The Tower Chiefs and Division and Regional Directors saw this and warned of the consequences.
They were ignored by Obama/Biden.
I saw it personally.
Think!
