I'm sorry, Althea, but no, it's not for Bill Clinton, or any politician, to avoid offering up "soundbites". Because that is exactly what Clinton did not do.

What Bill Clinton did was make a speech. He did not offer up a soundbite.

The real problem here is that people - on both sides - never bother to actually pay attention to reality, never bother to investigate issues for themselves, and are so lazy that they are willing to be given out-of-context statements rather than listen to or read the entire quote.

That is not the fault of anyone making a statement - that is the fault of an intellectually deficient (and becoming more so daily), lazy and apathetic populace.

Truth is important. Unfortunately, most people don't think so, which is where the concept of "soundbites" comes from.
