I may be wrong, but I belive that the events of this week, not just the statements Mitt Romney made, but his harried press conference and the sharp attacks by many Republican stalwarts is the final nail in a coffin fille with them.

The Republicans had a beeming hope for change this election. They hoped to throw President Obama out on his butt and assassinate his abilities and ideas. Instead, I belive due in a large part to the TEA Party's influence in the primaries, President Obama is going to get four more years to prove his point and get some credit when the economy begins to improve. Obama's chances for greatness have been given an extention.

The TEA party made is almost impossable for any reasonable or moderate canidate to stay in the primary race long enough to have even the smallest chance. They supported the wackos and there was only enough room in the race for the wack jobs, Newt, Santorum, or Backman and the camelion wanna be moderate/pretend to be arch conserative, willing to say anything, myopic, silver spoon afflicted.. Mitt Romney.

As the American people are getting to know the real Willard Romney... they are learning that he is not presidental materal, he is small minded and weak. Many wanted change, but they are going with more of the same over mean spirited and weak.

Jarod, how many more times do you think you will start threads stating that Romney can't win? Are you afraid people will have forgotten the dozen times you predicted this before and that on election day if Obama wins people won't remember that you called it?

I predict the exact opposite That Romney's asinine comments will have a net zero affect on the election. Just as Barry's stupid comment about guns and religion had a net zero impact on the 08 election.

I said that Romney's asinine comments were one final factor, not the factor.

I agree with you and so do many republican operatives.

Romney's entire campaign has been a disaster.

But I'm not sure why anybody thought it wouldn't be.

If he mismanaged his campaign so badly, how would he manage the nation?

I don't even think it's even the first factor. I think the majority of Americans view Romney as an elitist patrician born on third base with a silver spoon in his mouth that views the Presidency as a birth right and who has absolutely no clue about the struggles of the working and middle classes and would not represent their interests.

I think there is a decided effort by some people in the media to try to make people believe that it is "inevitable". However the poll numbers and reality are not supporting that suggestion. The reality is this race remains close, and there is no "inevitable".

I look forward to the debates.

Some polls are showing that its close... Others are not. Only Rasmussen puts Willard ahead. An electoral analysis does not indicate that its close.

I love how the blame it on the media crowd are back...thats always the whine when the Republican cant cut it!

But WHICH poll?
Pew gives Obama/Romney 51%/43%
WSJ gives 50%/45%
Gallup (swing states) 48%/46%
Pew (women) 56%/38%
Pew (men) 46%/48%
Pew (on health care) 52%/39%

Time to scrap your stupid and wasteful polls and concentrate on each party's manifesto. Oh! They don't have a manifesto?? Tough shit.
No one in their right mind would employ a sales manager based on his popularity down at the pub without first considering his cv but for a reason quite unknown to the rest of the world your idea of a democratic election is to let two rich guys slug it out in that very pub and give the last man standing the job of leading 300 million people into an uncertain future.
Nahh. Don't preach democracy to us.

So I keep hearing this theme that the Tea Party gave us Romney. Where is the proof?

Hell the story line through the primaries was that Romney couldn't close the deal with the Tea Party.

What is it with you propagandists?

The tea party was seen as an albatross, romney was seen as ... what is the nicest thing one can say?? ... er ???
I know....

NOT an albatross!
Maybe a 'Prince Albert'.

What is it with you Stupidistas.

The Tea Party chased all the moderates out of any contention for the Republican nomination .. and many of them out of the party.

Am I going too fast for you?

All republican candidates had to drop their pants for the Tea Party, which is the biggest voice in the Republican Party.

Because the republican field had been cut down to teabaggers, lunatics, and Romney's money .. morons like Donald Trump and the Pizza Guy took to the stage. Mind you, the audience was comprised of some of the dumbest people on the planet who agreed with the Tea Party. After the midterm election victories, they believed they could do no wrong and FOOLISHLY believed that they spoke for the American people.

All Romney had to do was sit back and let the rest of the moron field fizzle out and wilt under the spotlight .. then use his money to beat them down and win the nomination.

If I had crayons I would draw you some pictures of how it works.

Now, I have been trying to be nice to you because unlike the libtards who come here, you are consistent in your views. That is rare on the left. However, if you want to go back to slinging insults, I am more than happy to oblige. I will give you a mulligan this time.

Back to the substance. You are rewriting history my friend. The GOP establishment which is not to be confused with the Tea Party wanted Romney. Romney was the moderate we were all supposed to get behind. When Tea Partiers like me (yes I proudly call myself one) wouldn't get on board we were chastised by the likes of Joe Scarborough. "Didn't we want to win?" he would snidely ask. When I would point out that Romney had too many weaknesses and could not draw stark contrasts to Obama the way a true conservative could, I was told that Romney could draw the moderates.

When I was told that the media was trying to clear the path for Romney, I was told "foolishness". All along, I knew that Romney was the one the regime wanted and I don't blame them. I fully admit that Romney is a flawed candidate. I fully admit that I don't know what his true core is. But, do not try to claim that the Tea Party gave us Romney. That is just not an accurate reflection of fact.

Read my post, I do not belive the TEA party voted for Willard. They simply made it impossable for any honest moderate to get the majority of the vote. Romney is basically liberal for a Republican... yet he lied so much and is so desperate to get the nomination he pretended to be more conservative. Huntsman, who would have won this, was drumed out for being to moderate. Huntsman is more conservative than Romney's record, but made the mistake of being honest about where he stood.
