Eulogy for the Republican presidental chances in 2012.

I may be wrong, but I belive that the events of this week, not just the statements Mitt Romney made, but his harried press conference and the sharp attacks by many Republican stalwarts is the final nail in a coffin fille with them.

The Republicans had a beeming hope for change this election. They hoped to throw President Obama out on his butt and assassinate his abilities and ideas. Instead, I belive due in a large part to the TEA Party's influence in the primaries, President Obama is going to get four more years to prove his point and get some credit when the economy begins to improve. Obama's chances for greatness have been given an extention.

The TEA party made is almost impossable for any reasonable or moderate canidate to stay in the primary race long enough to have even the smallest chance. They supported the wackos and there was only enough room in the race for the wack jobs, Newt, Santorum, or Backman and the camelion wanna be moderate/pretend to be arch conserative, willing to say anything, myopic, silver spoon afflicted.. Mitt Romney.

As the American people are getting to know the real Willard Romney... they are learning that he is not presidental materal, he is small minded and weak. Many wanted change, but they are going with more of the same over mean spirited and weak.

have you noticed the number of repug candidates that have distanced themselves from mittens

Palin > Cain > Santorum

In that order

Do you ever really think things through. I mean Palin's only function is to provide humourous one liners by British stand-ups denigrating the general intelligence of America. Cain? Isn't he dead yet? Santorum? Sounds like a furriner to me.

Anyway, thanks for your answer. It wasn't entirely unexpected it's just that I don't think I have ever actually conversed with someone who openly supports Palin and calls himself a member of the tea party in public.

Now, I have been trying to be nice to you because unlike the libtards who come here, you are consistent in your views. That is rare on the left. However, if you want to go back to slinging insults, I am more than happy to oblige. I will give you a mulligan this time.

Back to the substance. You are rewriting history my friend. The GOP establishment which is not to be confused with the Tea Party wanted Romney. Romney was the moderate we were all supposed to get behind. When Tea Partiers like me (yes I proudly call myself one) wouldn't get on board we were chastised by the likes of Joe Scarborough. "Didn't we want to win?" he would snidely ask. When I would point out that Romney had too many weaknesses and could not draw stark contrasts to Obama the way a true conservative could, I was told that Romney could draw the moderates.

When I was told that the media was trying to clear the path for Romney, I was told "foolishness". All along, I knew that Romney was the one the regime wanted and I don't blame them. I fully admit that Romney is a flawed candidate. I fully admit that I don't know what his true core is. But, do not try to claim that the Tea Party gave us Romney. That is just not an accurate reflection of fact.

Just so you know, I found the comments you made in another thread seriously racist. You can "oblige" anyway you choose.

Try better reading comprehension. My argument is not that the Tea Party ushered Romney into the nomination, but rather that their assault and domination of the Republican Party left the party with one of the weakest fields in recent memory. The Tea Party climbed onto the Romney train after everyone of their favorites wilted in the spotlight. None of the garbage candidates the Tea Party favored had a chance in Hell of beating Obama. Gingrich, Trump, Huckabee, Santorum, Bachman, the Pizza Guy .. all garbage. At least Romney had a chance .. or was supposed to have a chance until he also cowered to the Tea Party and started kissing their ass.

The very reason he chose Paul Ryan is because of the Tea Party. The moment he picked Ryan he lost Florida.. AND, still Obama may win Wisconsin, Ryan's own state.

Had Romney actually been the moderate the Republican establishment thought he was, he might of had a chance at winning an election that he was supposed to win.

Point being .. it is the Tea Party which is responsible for Romney as the candidate and for his dementia.
