NASA brought that vehicle back to Earth safely and intact.

The only reason the astronauts did not return in it was due to an abundance of caution on the part of NASA.

Something I wonder if a profit oriented businessman like musk would exercise....

So NASA deemed the Boeing spacecraft too unsafe fore human transport. NASA's judgement proved wrong and you trust NASA WHY??

NASA has a long history of experience.

They've proven overwhelmingly that they are qualified.
